The BMW I like. The corvette I didn't realise changed, oh wait, nope, its still a flimsy piece of shit.
The Corvette is as hideous as always, except for the C5. Looks like a poor man's Ferrari that wasn't done well, doesn't look good, and doesn't have any outstanding performance to speak of either. It's been overhyped since the day it was announced, and quite frankly, I don't understand why people on car forums are constantly praising it. It might be far cheaper than most sports cars, but that's because it was built cheaper. I'd rather pay the premium of having a more expensive car that doesn't look like a fish and have the build quality of a Fisher Price oil rig. The BMW is a nice technological feat, has a fantastic looking front fascia, but the rear is too busy and "layered" for my liking.
I kind of like how the corvette is looking. I dont really understand why many find it so ugly. The i8 is also really gorgeous.
The i8 is actually a very nice car to look at. I'm no fan of the under door "dent" thing or the rear end really, but otherwise its got a nice futurist look without being a bunch of random ugly dents and shapes. Unlike the i3 which I don't particularly like. (imported from here) The corvette is just another screamy V8 plastic thing so, yeah. Older ones looked much better too.
The i8 looks vaguely "shark like" from the front so on that account it's nice. Everything else about it is kinda crap.
I was worried for the design of the i8 as well. Then I actually saw one in person. Like I said, pictures don't always look the part.
The C7 doesn't look too bad, but the quad exhaust is just ridiculous, and it still uses live axle rear suspension. I think it's leaf springs as well. The Mustang updated to IRS (about 20 years too late), Chevrolet should do it too. The Z06 looks pretty cool, but it's one of those cars that should stay in auto shows for people to look at. The i8 looks pretty good IMO, and I love the idea of a proper hybrid, efficient sports car. More efficient cars = we can have petrol reserves for longer before we all have to switch to electric.
Corvette has had independent rear suspension since before the first Mustang even launched. The transverse leaf springs have little in common with a traditional leaf spring suspension. They actually have many advantages over coil springs: http://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/...vette-stingray-z51-suspension-walkaround.html
