    I thinks it's because of pedestrian safety reasons as well. But it probably is because of weight reduction to compensate for the weight gains there are in reinforcing the pillars as well as adding crumple zones as well.

    I still love old cars more though...

    Pedestrian safety. Can you imagine how bad it is to have your ankles shattered by this monstruosity?
