Find me something amazing in a Plymouth Reliant, Vauxhall Cavalier, VW Santana or Olds Cutlass Ciera.
It's a 166, and it's an Alfa Romeo, all Alfas have a charm to them despite their issues (unless it's a Arna)
Japanese cars seem to come in similar designs, but start up once in a while. --- Post updated --- That a car isn't just looks.
It has to serve it's purpose, and have good build quality (and last longer than a untouched cheeseburger).
99% of people wouldn't give a damn or even know the Arna exists if Clarkson didn't tell them to hate it. Anyway, Skoda Favorit.
I always hated the Arna even before Jeremy Clarkson mocked it purely down to its looks. I don't care how reliable it is, the blandness of it just annoys me.
Well, a good example of a long lasting car (in general, not from AR) is the LLV. Sure, it's not gonna last longer than the "new" Big Ben, but for a car built in the 80s that could survive about 20-30 years is kind of impressive, especially a postal vehicle.
I know I know, I meant that its not ALL performance, but I didn't necessarily mean to say that it's all looks.
A lot of cars were related to the Vectra, however the Alfa 159 was not built on the GM Epsilon platform like the Saab 93 or Cadillac BTS.
A ton of cars can go 20-30 years. The world champions are the 300 ci Ford F-Series and Mercedes 200/220/240/300D - there are still many daily-driven examples 40-50 years old.
I'd argue it was bland back in the day but today anything that is as old as the Arna is has a certain charm to it no matter how awful, that is simply the reason why I wouldn't mind owning one. God have mercy if anything needs replacing though.
Well, that's good to know anyways. I'd actually get a Favorit one day, depending when I get enough money, then find one to export.
1992 Mazda Miata (NA), like the one I learned to drive stick shift in. That is the most fun I've ever had behind the wheel. This is the actual car, in the limited-edition Sunburst Yellow color. Only 1,519 of this color made.
