Sure ig being a laptop makes it not a desktop pc but i like it and it gets the job done and runs BeamNG better then my old Desktop (can share those specs if you're interested at all)

Soundblaster Audigy 7.1 sound card (the newer one, not the Audigy SE with Realtek chips!)
6x~8x 500gb Sata SSD's such as Micron MX500 and Toshiba Q-pro units. I think one is an off-brand MLC nand drive but it works fine (Toshiba units are also MLC units). I use these to store project files (over 100gb currently!), Steam games, and other games such as my MS-DOS game archive I've had since 1994, music, etc. Can never have enough space.
2TB Hitachi used server drives for backups, pre-tested. Don't usually use them a lot except when hooked up for backups, then unhooked in-case of the unfortunate event of crypto-virus it shouldn't wipe everything else out since things are disconnected. I rotate drives for each backup, so if one's bad, then I get the next most recent back up. I also back up things off-site over my dumpster-fire satellite internet to two different sites. So Los Injurus City project is safe.

Complaints about it? Not enough RAM, I run out frequently.
I smoked the ASROCK phantom gaming 4 board about 3 months after switching from an R7 3700x to an R9 3950x (had the 3700 running a year), the power phases on the board just couldn't take the bad power grid we have + 16 core CPU. Get an Asus board and be happy - the one I have is great honestly and not bad for 200$ in a retail store.
The cpu is absolutely a dream and from everything I hear the 5900x/5950x are even better! I use dual-rank ram because of notable speed benefits with Ryzen processors of 3000 series and higher (5000 series benefits more than 3000 series with dual rank ram). 32gb is not enough for game dev. Saving up for a 64gb kit to add to what I have here, but that'll take months and months. I will get by fine for a while yet.
Totally recommend large full-tower and mid-tower fractal computer cases. They are the quality of Lian-Li just about, and a dream to work with. This one has a door on the front, and my last one just had a normal front without a door, but this one is so quiet. I can't tell you how nice it is to work here on my models and map and not be deafened by tons of loud fans, or cooked alive by the computer, or suffering fish tank sounds (or leaks!!!). So NO water cooling.
If I have to water cool something, I should take the money spent on that and buy a better cpu/gpu/whatever that can do what I need it to, without having a nuclear melt-down.
Again, can't recommend a Ryzen enough - or an 11-series intel chip with a lot of cores, or a 10-series 10900k. It's reasonably close right now with intel's single core speed on the 12-series processor being quite nice and coming out on top. The 3700x and the 3950x are worth absolutely EVERY penny, just make sure you use the Vulkan renderer please.
That said, if you can afford Threadripper 3000-series processors, please let us know how many cars you can run in Los Injurus City Map! I could only dream of getting a Threadripper system with gobs of RAM. I have to spend that type of money on other things - like buying supplies to fix/maintain my house, so it doesn't fall in on me randomly from not being maintained.
I've only put my foot through the floor once, so not doing too bad. If it's not that then it's me having to put money into my car for maintenance - or the never-ending stream of Doctor bills which is 100's of US $ a month. So yeah, no Threadripper CPU computer for me - probably not for many years - but I certainly love this super-quiet easily-accessible build that I have now and would totally recommend it to anyone just the way it is. Just maybe get a video card with more than 8gb of VRAM as that is not enough for maxing newer games especially at 4k. That said, the ray-tracing is awesome for productivity / 3d renders in modeling programs / texture previews when using Substance Designer among other things - much better for productivity than for games. The only thing I have that does ray tracing is Quake II RTX
Sorry for the rant - felt I should add this part, maybe it'll help someone. With what I spent on this computer, I need to keep it for at-least another 3~4 years in it's current configuration before I can buy parts for another.
I absolutely positively despise and hate Windows 10. I miss my Windows 7 with it's classic theme so it looked like Windows 2000. I have had to modify the OS to get my classic grey Windows theme and look back. Why they ever had to change it from Windows 2000 is beyond me - it was perfect then.

It's been good, but I'm supposed to be modeling and getting the 11-foot-8 bridge ready for release (soon!), not blabbing.
The bridge will be featured in the next version of Los Injurus City, and supporters get it early. Smashey Smash!
