A classic that doesn't even need to be introduced: Sober by Tool, probably the best open d chord metal intro which is done on bass: I've always loved the mysterious lyrical content of TOOL but when you understand the lyrics they are pretty.....dark.
The start of this song is pretty relatable for me, unfortunately. It's a great song, though, and very true.
