A lot of people seems to say they would get scared (I know someone that would... lol) I might not... I might be more calm about it and perhaps be aware of it not being real... I'm not really excitable though...
I personally think it would be pretty cool... only ever got to use VR once in my life during college... didn't get to play any games with it, but I got to make a robot. The project was supposed to basically integrate dual cameras and some servoes into a robot and have that controlled by an (then first gen dev kit) Oculus Rift. The Rift would control the position of the head of the robot while the cameras would feedback to the screen. Let me tell you... VR... if done right... really messes with you... like big time. The first time we got it working at like 3 or 4 in the morning, I was able to turn my head and look at myself outside of my own body. I was having an out of body experience and it was surreal. The resolution was garbage, the cameras could only run 30fps, both eyes weren't synced perfectly, and the update rate on the server was less than ideal... and yet... that moment... for some reason... nearly brought me to tears. It messed with me. Side note: if you have the cameras not mounted to anything, hold them in your hands and experiment with how wide you hold them apart. Turns out that your brain is incredibly adjustable to such situations and can adjust to such things incredibly quickly. hold them closer together than your real eyes, you feel small... insignificant... you have to point them down to make sure your not standing on a stool to get your vision that high. Spread them apart and you feel massive, like some sort of giant. You feel like your looking in through a window from the outside of a building rather than standing in that room. Its crazy... and as long as both cameras are pointing in "about" the same direction, your brain makes these transitions instantaneously. It really is crazy. Tip... don't point them inward toward each other... that makes cookies come up.
