Touchwiz is pretty crap. it's not that noticeable, you'd notice it if you say... put a custom ROM on the phone then went back to the stock rom.
It is a massive resource hog compared to what it should be, I think the only reason you havent noticed it is because the S3 is powerful enough to bomb through it and its probably all your used to on that device. But like the above says, you might notice the speed improvement if you reflashed a stock rom instead.
personally, i dont get all this custom rom stuff, i love the touchwiz ui, its just, so, perfect, but its all opinions (and yes, i have used a custom rom before, i have a friend who has the gs3 as well (AT&T version, which is what i have) and he has a custom rom (well, stock))
I have the best Samsung Galaxy W GT-I8150 running Cyanogen mod 10.1. I'm the only one who thinks that when you buy any thing from Apple you mostly pay for logo? I mean on IOS you need to Jailbreak on Android just recheck one thing and you ready to go. Next thing IOS has just only about 7 phones released while android runs like billion phones.
Yeah, iPhones are more about the brand rather than the phone, but it's still not a bad phone at all. Plus a lot of Android phones out there are pretty crap. (I still prefer Android, so don't get me wrong.)
I have an iPhone 4 and I think that I am thinking about Android, after some of my favorite apps went with the iOS7 design, and it completely ruined it. I like some parts of iOS7, but it is starting to brick my phone, and it is not as good as I thought. Then my iPod touch 4 bricked up after 2 years of being jailbroken (thinking about unjailbreaking it), and half of the apps do not work.
I will give you price comparison in my country maybe in your country it is cheaper. Apple Iphone 5 lowest price is 2000lt which means 569EUR and 769 USD. HTC ONE lowest price is 1650lt which means 479EUR and 634USD. And you can compare them Apple Iphone 5 is quite old now, but it cost a lot compared to the phone that some say is the best- HTC ONE it costs less than an old Iphone. And you have more developing options with Android.
Lets ignore the iPhone 5S 64 bit gimmick for a moment. The 5S, their flagship model, its only 1.3ghz dual core with 1gb of RAM with a quad core 200MHz PowerVR GPU, in non tech speak that actually equates to a low-mid range android handset, many mid range handsets have better GPU's (PowerVR is poor in comparison to rival mobile GPU's and the phones using powerVR tend to be higher clock speeds than apple use) or quad core CPU's. Many flagship android phones which supposedly rival the iPhone have 2gb of RAM (or even 3gb now) and much higher CPU clock speeds on quad core chips (enoxys in the S4/note 3 does not function as an octa core contrary to popular belief). Take it back in time 2 years, it wouldnt have been cutting edge then with the exception of being 64 bit, even TouchID isn't anything new (motorola atrix). As for 64 bit on the 5S being a gimmick. Its a step forwards tech wise yes, not an innovative one as apple claim as ARMv8 being 64 bit has been talked about and even demoed for a few years and it was inevitable that a phone would use ARMv8 eventually. The thing is though that nothing on the iPhone can benefit from it properly (and for reference, same would go for android and windows phone too, probably a lesser extent on android due to the open-ness in what you can and cannot do but still a gimmick). So far the best speed boost recorded from any app migrating from A6X to A7 is 90% from a fractal generator, most of that boost was attributed to a higher number of general purpose registers being available for use instead of having to use RAM. It will become the norm eventually, there are things which will get improvements from it but in general 32 bit wasnt an issue. Kudos they did it first, but we don't need it yet, its not innovation. Only innovation apple have done recently is the design of the mac pro, which is awesome, but a step backwards for its intended purpose
its an opinion based thing here, for example, personally, i prefer touchwiz over vannila, it makes everything look so nice (MY OPINION)
I have never liked Touchwiz, or any samsung cellphones in my entire life. Even pre-smartphone era Samsung phones have never been popular in my eyes. Oh hrey look, I got myself a new friend for my HTC One GPE. (imported from here) 32GB/LTE Variant, Screen rox. Holy shit the Nexus has a shit camera in low light. Meh, will probably never use it to take photo's again. To be fair, the One is quite an old phone too, compare it to the 5S, which is newer... basically any flagship droid eats the iPhone spec vs spec.
Lol, That's hilarious. One time my friend told me to take a picture with his Galaxy S 4g(first gen)And I asked where did you get this odd Iphone, And they felt offended(For those of you who are slow, Samsung phones looked Completely like Iphones at least when they Galaxy S was introduced, Everything from the chrome sides to the laggy IOS like Touchwiz user interface), LOL - - - Updated - - - Dude please, Have you seen the horrendous lag on a s4, and it has a Quad Core Cpu...I used to have a Galaxy Epic and I rooted that and installed CM after the extreme lag problems. Epic difference(pun intended) I think I habit for starting new pages............. - - - Updated - - - Galaxies are too, More about brand, Now a days People buy Sasmung phones because of the "Samsung" and the Lebron touching one XD. I sure loved those Apple attack ads Samsung made, What every happened to those
There are different people who thinks differently and you can't deny with this , but for my budget I choose Samsung rather than Apple. Maybe Apple have better camera than Samsung, maybe Apple is more powerfull than Samsung. Apple have fingerprint scanner Samsung haven't. A lot of differences, but I still choose Samsung.Btw. I'm talking about best Samsung phones like S3, S4, Note 3 and so on... Sorry for my englsih IF I made any mistakes.
