Seriously, considering we are inching up on .27 after ~10 years I'd say we've got a while before we have to worry about that. Which is in no way a slight to the dev's! The amount of progress on the game in the last 2 years alone is MIND BLOWING.
If im not mistaken the devs or one of them has mentioned that there are things theyd like to implement in a follow-up but i could be wrong.
Considering that the devs have already changed massive parts of the games engines since launch I wouldn't be surprised. They introduced Torque3D into the BeamNG engine back in 2013 and are close to completely depreciating it now as the physics engine. They already overhauled the graphic engine with all the new PBR updates. These devs love to tinker and improve all aspects of the game. With how crazy far the game has come since inception, I don't think anything would surprise me. As for the game being updated after 1.0 launch, I think it will. The official launch will bring a wave of new users. This game has been such a labor of love for them, I would guess that they would have some planned content releases for after 1.0 release along with bug fixes. However I think the core of the game will be in a good state that won't require much tweaking. This would be great for the modding community since each update won't break their mods. If any devs are reading this, I would love to see your in-house wishlist of future features
