I feel like if you would put thoughts into my mouth which are not my thoughts. If you could point out where I am against as my understanding is that I was not against or supporting, just sharing information which should help to get best of current system.
This is getting off topic, so: Automation mods are an export, even if you modify the export, it is still an export since it does not have support for future modability. Although technically they modify the game, it's really an export since nobody c̶a̶n̶ did make any mod that modify the export nor make the export be compatible with standard beamng mods or content since it was not meant to be for that, thus it is an export unless you modify the export to an absurd degree to have support for beamng content and its mods. On Topic: since I may created an controversial topic, anything before this post in this thread, i officially do not support and denounce anything i said before this post, except on pg ... i forgot what page but its that one post where i explained where we're going
People have tried to take exported automation cars and put real interiors in them. I saw a post but dunno where it went.
true, but im talking about creating a mod for an automation car. Its possible with beam cars, but nobody attempted in an automation car
I have other one too that is not released, but yeah it is quite simple to make, that I made for example, it is possible to polish such much more, but that should help to start. I'm not sure what you mean by this mod, slap few configs in?
maybe, but more like swapping the spoiler, drivetrain, engine, or make the turbo and engine separate.
All of above is possible with a 3D editing software like Blender, some skill, and a bit of Lua and Jbeam work.
Yeah, one don't even need lua for those, not even a Blender necessarily as assets can be moved within jbeam files.
Let's make this clear: exported cars from automation are mods. They use exactly the same framework as any handmade or hybrid mod and are not treated any differently.
Interesting graph, BeamNG vs Wreckfest: Compared from times of 2016 I think game is enjoyed more: Follow what happens after next update, as with earlier updates, next one probably gives another boost up: https://steamdb.info/app/284160/graphs/
They are primitive jbeams constructed by a program and unsuitable-for-beamng meshes slapped on. Also they require zero human effort.
Well you also have to make the car in Automation... Also for a actualy good one you have to put some efford in it. I work for ~6 Hours on one car
Even if that was the case - go tell that to people spending days to perfect their vehicles in Automation before exporting - where is "human effort" even contemplated in the definition of "mod"? Not included in the vanilla installation of the game and not official game content = mod. No two ways about it. Anyway... Repository was littered with "mods" that required zero effort even before the Automation integration. In a way, I see Automation vehicles as an improvement.
