Aren't you guys having to import water now? We get a few floods a year in my town. This road they've now got an electronic sign put up with a readout specifically to give the water depth. Floods really regularly and then on the occasion that everywhere else floods then this *really* floods. Many a car has been killed by morons thinking it can only be a few inches deep, even SUV's have gone in and had their engines flooded. Last time it flooded my mum drove through it in her mitsibushi shogun, water reaching the hood (she didnt see the problem with this, definitely fits into the moron category, she does not have snorkel gear), reached the other end of the "road" to find a police officer setting up the roadblock there, he gave her a right old bollocking Park, its near the river and its all flat ground, its gonna flood. High street a few years ago, flood defences built in the area have reduced this big time. Prior to that there have been occasions where people have quite successfully rowed boats down the street. Well, we have a really good water/reservoir system, so we're not in too bad of shape. Still, a drought's a drought, especially 3 straight years of severe drought.
