    Is this a german thing?

My corsa regularly needs the bonnet release handle disconnecting from its mount so you can give it a good old almighty tug further than the mount would normally allow. Then you tighten the cable while you're at it, then the cable stretches a few weeks later and you repeat the process again.

I guess that I'm secretly hoping for the Hirochi. It's really nice.

I went for the 2400i on the basis that it would be the absolute bee's knees to drive. I was tossing up between that and the '89 Pessima. That thing is achingly gorgeous and has so much potential. :)

I can understand the SBR4 but I really don't see a reason to think that children would choose the '53 Burnside. Did you decide on how popular those two are in the poll?

I'd say the main problem with the Hirochi is that while all the other vehicles are clearly rooted in reality, with similarities to many production cars, it isn't. I've never heard of a rear engined Japanese station wagon before.

I don't have a problem with the SBR4 as it is, i have a problem with sporty modern cars in common.

Aside from the original Mazda Carol, I can't think of any other rear-engine Japanese cars :(

Acordding to wikipedia, a shooting brake is a station wagon with three or five doors.

Just because it can be, doesn't mean it is.

That was a typo on my end. Show me a shooting brake that isn't a type of station wagon.

While some of these are concepts, they are most certainly not station wagons.

you missed a vital point, coupe. In much the same way a station wagon is an extended saloon. A shooting brake draws more from a coupe. To call a shooting brake a station wagon is as incorrect as to called a station wagon a coupe.

Rear engined is weird. But thats not my point.

    EDIT:
Seems noah and I both had the same idea of simply image searching shooting brake xD

Fine. Looks like there is a difference after all. The SBR4 is still stupid though XD

    I have been summoned....

    Lessee, we have:

    Hino Contessa
    Subaru 360
    Subaru R-2/Rex/many others
    Suzuki Fronte (pre 1979)
    Mazda R360
    Mazda RX-500 (though not produced)
    Mitsubishi 500/Colt 600

All of these cars have some key things in common

    • Unlike the SBR4, they are at least 45 years old
    • Unlike the SBR4, they feature no 4WD system
    • Unlike the SBR4, they are not supercars (with the exception of the RX-500, but that does not count as it was never sold.)
    • Unlike the SBR4, they do not adopt a shooting break bodystyle

Aside from the badge, the Hirochi SBR4 is more in the spirit of something a bit more German...
(If you're having trouble with your imagination, think of the love child of a 911 GT3 RS and a Panamera)

Even so, I rather like the SBR4, if not in an ironic way (I will probably make fun of it's rear engine by purposely trying to spin it into a variety of obstacles). I'd much rather an ETK 2400i though, because FR master race:p
(it would also be good for the treatment...)

Maybe if the badge is changed to some german company it'd be better. Not ETK, some name like Malsha or something.

How about SternenKübel or AckerMacker or ETK as in EigentlichTransportKisten. ;)
