I've got an issue with how RAW photos (NEF specifically) are displayed on PC. When I view them on my camera, the colours are fairly vibrant:

However, when I open them on PC, this happens:

At first the image looks exactly like it did on camera, but then the colours get washed out and the lens correction gets disabled as well.
    Using Photoshop doesn't help either:

Why does this happen and what can I do to prevent it?

When you shoot you can try to use vivid and cloudy or shade in the settings, if you shoot in .RAW you can edit this with a program called Nikon ViewNX 2 which is free afterwards.

You can also try to switch between the viewfinder and live view and se if there is a difference, if you use live view you have to cover the viewfinder.
