Fun Fact there is a white 1971 Buick Lesabre for sale in my town, it's also the 3rd oldest car in town
If you had asked me this in mid-2015, I would have said "No way." However, after driving around in the Moonhawk for a long while, I've come to the conclusion that big, old malaise-era cars aren't all that bad. Sure, they're objectively bad compared to their '60s and '90s counterparts, but there's something satisfying about cruising in a two- or three-ton coupe like the '76 Cadillac Eldorado, terrible handling, poor taste, and single-digit fuel economy notwithstanding. However, if I did have to own a malaise-era car, it would be either a TE72 Corolla wagon...(In better condition, of course.) ...an '82 Challenger X with the five-speed and 2.6L engine... ...or a '74 El Camino exactly like this. I don't know what I find so appealing about these cars; maybe it's that they're told to be so terrible, that you go in expecting the worst, but end up potentially getting a good car (and for a lot less money than a non-malaise-era counterpart). All I know is that I would take any of these three cars over their earlier or later versions (I'd even take the TE72 wagon over an AE86).
79 Corvette all day long edit: also the 240z, of course there are many other great cars from that era, just the first two to come to my mind
