Sounds like it was an AI added to the match as filler. It's also a name that shows up in the career for bots.

I thought that as well, but don't the bots have an asterisk next to their name online?

I would have no idea, haven't played multiplayer in a long time that had bots in it. I'm still used to the Player count like 2+1/16 from older versions, where +1 was the bot count.

This has got to be the most difficult track in the game, online or off.
Took quite a few tries and a hell of a lot of gear shifting to get from the back to 1st in a single lap. Expert AI is punishing on this track, way more than others.

@DuneWulff : that looks like what I call the "heart attack on dirt" track (at work, can't view), I love it personally. Short geared Speedbirds,Rammers and Starbeasts sound epic on this track.
As for the AI bot, bots have a small green asterisk next to their names in multiplayer. They are difficult to see in the current UI scheme though. They drive like dogshit most of
the time but a couple can liven up the party, or ruin it, at times.

Speaking of lobby silence, how the hell do people chat and drive at the same time??

Multiplayer can also be quite punishing on this track xD

Don't you mean the most fun track? ;)

See I'm new to stick shifts in general, only ever driven one twice in my life, and both times the car had a bad clutch or the clutch needed to be bled, so I keep manual shifting with a clutch to Beam for now, still using Automatic in wreckfest :)

    Noooooooo
    That was fun

So assuming you all did the survey thing, what did you guys rate the game?
I gave it a 7. It doesn't seem quite there yet.

Gave it an 8. Looks like the majority of folks are praising Wreckfest and the work put into it.
Two immediate complaints on the latest patch:

The walls/guardrails seem to be "stickier" now.

Vehicle colors in the paint shop appear more washed out. The game itself looks sharper to me though.

As for overall feedback I highly suggested more detailed customization/performance options, more realistic deformation, more unique and challenging career options and
numerous multiplayer enhancements. I also asked that they do not turn Wreckfest into a boring and generic "arcade" racer and continue evolving what makes Wreckfest....Wreckfest!

Sooooo I randomly now have a craving for a bit of Demo Derby stuff, and BeamNG (Because of the lag) Isn't exactly filling that quota. I downloaded a few random app-like games on my pc, and I want Wreckfest more. I have heard that it's not getting many updates, but is it worth buying on Steam? And what specs might I need? My specs are in the signature.

Since they got a publisher it's been at least one update a month until they feel they can call it "done for now" to focus on console version (that time is coming fast though. No word on if they will return after console version is live). It is expensive on steam, but it's a game you can easily put a lot of hours onto. I personally refuse to pay full price for games; I would wait until it's on sale. With summer coming up I am sure there will be a sale, but with full release coming up you might not have the chance to get the package with the exclusive car in another couple months.

Your processor is better than mine and you have the same RAM so you should be fine as far as that stuff is concerned.

Can't say, I bought it straight out from their site many years ago.
But the Summer Sale usually drops thing a minimum 15-20%, usually more.

I would buy it sooner rather than later. Game has been in development for years. Finally, in Beta, it's ~$40 on steam. Upon full release of the game, I would expect it to go up to $60. So even if it did get discounted 30%, you would not save anymore money. You also may be able to still download it from Bugbear directly for like $5 less than on steam. Not positive if they still do that though.

Edit: I guess you can't get the discount on Wreckfest through Bugbear anymore. Sorry! Probably up to you when you want to buy it then. :D
