If I start the game with the xbox 360 controller already plugged in and open a level, the controller works fine. After I exit to the main menu and open another level, BeamNG refuses to accept any input from it. After I exit the program, the "first player" light turns off until I unplug and plug the controller back in.

I already have "controllerxbox360forwindows.inputmap.cs" in my "BeamNG.drive\scripts\client\inputmaps" folder, if that's what you're referring to.

I've had it happen at random a few times. Disconnecting and reconnecting sometimes works. Reloading map sometimes works. Worst comes to worst, restart game :(

hmm...try my controller map I mean all I changed in it because I was getting a "Joy_Steer: Unknown Command" was to edit that file and edit the "Joy_Steer" line to be just "Steer" and you have to make a file inside Inputmaps call it Custom and put your map inside there...and it should work

Happens to me too. I just exit every time I want to change the map.

I'm having the same problem with my PS3 controller, it used to work with BeamNG. I've tried unplugging/plugging it in, ect. I don't think its a problem with MotionJoy, but I could be wrong.

you can try to reload the input map (shift+M) The feature isn't 100% though

Also remember this game is in Alpha it still has a while to go before controllers work with it without you having to install input maps..

I never installed an input map, worked fine minus randomly dropping out when I change map and only when I change map, and usually not even then.

Hi guys, I'm new here and I have the same problem.
It's quite annoying to exit/enter every time you want to change the map...

How can I edit my own controller map?
