My Xbox One (wired) controller's left stick has been drifting in an odd way:
Frequently (but not always) whenever I push the right trigger in all the way the left stick drifts significantly to the left although it isn't even being touched. Temporary resolutions include: whacking it with my palm and/or attempting to calibrate it for the millionth time, but these never last more than around fifteen minutes, a half an hour at most, and all online solutions have failed.
I would like to resolve the issue without replacing the controller, although replacing components may be acceptable.
I'm running the latest versions of BeamNG.drive and Windows 10, I can provide further information if necessary.

You may want to check your bindings. Make sure that you haven't bound the trigger to "steer left" as well as whatever else you've bound it to, likely acceleration.
