I agree, that SUV looks better than what most designers are putting out nowadays.

 

Not hitting on Gabster, he makes no claims to be a car designer, and his moddelling skills are awesome, but that SUV sketch is no way better than what typical designers are doing today!

Here is a VW SUV concept sketch/render. So much character and emotion, conveying the strength and power of the machine.


Gabesters has great perspective, but that pic has no imagination. Then again it it not his job, and his work for BeamNG is outstanding.

 

And for 1-2 minute sketches you are is a hell of a lot better than me.

 

Are you modeling that modern SUV?

Pro tip. Don't do your sketches on lined paper, it looks cheap and amateurish, no matter how advanced your talent. Its entirely distracting. Just buy some plain white paper.

 

I used the outline from a picture and drew this freehand in paint. It was my dream car when I was 16. I now have a rusty Datsun 910, so pretty close.

Haha yeah youre probably right, im no engineer! The idea was that the black frame is static, the green frame pivots on the black one just out of sight behind the wheel.
