The AMD R9 290X could be better then Titan ?! If so, i would choose the AMD card. Well the other stuff got posted already, no need to redo now.
Look's like it would cost around $1,069. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116491
or, you could sli 2 gtx 760's to get more performance then on gtx titan (and yes, this has been proven to be correct)
Microstutter and some compatibility issues stem from having GPUs in SLI. I was considering two 760s for the Titan-level performance, but sprung for a 770 instead. Finally threw the hardware together. (imported from here) (imported from here)
I would need this kind of PC. I have 32 GB, not enough. Two words: RAM disk. Bad cooling though, couldn't have overclocked that CPU much. But nice parts. It uses Hyper Threading, but I don't think it won't make a dramatic change. It can't because it's not cores, it's just a more efficient way of utilizing the existing cores. So in one way, showing all 8 threads in task manager is a bit useless. Doesn't give a realistic view on the reality at all. The CPU isn't noisy, the fan on the cooler is. Buy a heatsink (without fan) and a Scythe Gentle Typhoon. That fan is one of the best performing radiator fans, and it has probably the lowest noise lever per performance you can find. Set it too 1000-1400 rpm and you won't hear it. Could be, but nVIDIA is already planning a GTX 780 Ti. The question isn't performance, it's price. Per today AMD's R9 280X is beating nVIDIA to death with it's low price. What I think, is that nVIDIA will have the faster card this year. nVIDIA's GPU's are more efficient, and Titan doesn't fully utilize GK110. The 780 Ti will be faster than Titan, but maybe not when it comes to compute applications and such (and FAH ). IVB-E is still faster than your i7-2600K (did I guess right?). If not, you have a i7-3770 (non-K-version).

Your screen is kind of weird/low res for today with that computer I think. Is it an older monitor? I have 3 2005ish square screens that can display that res
The Sony you see in Speccy has been replaced by a nice Eizo, also at 1280x1024. The Sony is nearly a decade old, and I bought the Eizo in 2008. SXGA is pretty standard, iirc. I'll eventually get a 1920x1080 when I get a larger desk.
To be honest, I cannot tell. New things are coming out as time passes, so nobody will know if a card 5 times better than the Titan will come out in one or two years time This is only what I think.
This is just copied off of the website were I am build it(I still need to save up enough though) so it has some stuf you said you did not want but here it is. ya, dream gaming pc, been there done that, never spending 5 grand on a setup ever again. Dream gaming pc for me is current mid/high end range hardware, not anymore than that. such a waste of CASH.
So you bought one of those uselessly overpowered computers? I won't even spend 500 bucks to upgrade my computer, much less 5,000. I'd rather spend that on a car. Even a car that's just for fun or something. Like one of those 80s chevy military surplus pickup trucks, with the 6.2 diesel. I think they're called M1008. I don't know why that comes to mind I just really want one.
I only upgrade when I play a game on full settings and I'm telling to myself ''this feels laggy''. My computer will last me at least 1-2 years, and then I'll just upgrade my GPU. That's my dream PC, not expensive and more than enough for max settings.
I would never want to own a "Dream PC." Once you have one, there is nothing greater to look at and drool over. Not having the best and dreaming of the best is half the fun of owning a gaming PC.
