More Progress!!! I have masked up some of the trim around the windows I also need to cover the whole bottom bit I got some of the taillights done but as I am going to need a clear white to complete it I just did the middle section I also primed the seats and tried to make captains chairs but sadly the captain's chairs broke but the will be reassembled once it is done!!! Yeah the chairs need a bit of cleaning up... and so does my garage floor
i had a weather warning for sleet for the early oh wow I have that first chair, I will admit that it can make your back bad. but anyway I need to wear out that one before I get a different one, it was quite cheap, but mine is "gaming red" which tbh I didn't chose because of gaming, rather I chose it because my room decor is red (red bed, red chair, red lamps), I've got a red-white-silver-chrome-black mish-mash that isn't actually all that bad even my phone charger wire is red (oneplus ) amazon can be weird for sales also, they say "discount" but somethings like a 1tb hard-drive, that was never going to sell at $150 so discounted to 60 doesn't mean much I feel sorry for anyone who ever boght it at that price, if it was ever sold at that price. Actually come to think about it, some people bought hard-drives from amazon and found they were in fact refurbs due to them having a 6 month warranty, they plugged in the serial number into the OEMs website and found that out. I think they were given the option for them to be returned for a refund I'm not sure. I should probably check my drives, but they have already stood the test of time to some extent, with my 1tb hard-drive approaching 3 years old now, and I bought the same models and they performed also. (WD blue). Also why have hard-drive prices stagnated for a while? 1tb hard-drive was 45 pounds back in 2015 and still is about that in 2018, is this just too small of a time frame to compare, after the brexit vote it actually went up to 50 pounds (understandable, ugh)
Hard dives are probably as cheap as they are going to get. Demand isn't going up because a lot of computers are shipping without them. Last I checked 1tb is the cheapest you can buy now, which would suggest that 500gb costs the same amount of money to produce (but with far less sales, hence higher price). So manufacturing costs aren't likely to go down either. They have reached rock bottom for current manufacturing, and reducing costs of already cheap 1tb drives is not likely to be worth while with SSD's slowly eroding that market. Perhaps higher capacity hard drives still have room to come down in price? Like the 6tb drives etc. Or maybe as SSD's take more of the consumer market, 1tb HDD's won't get enough sales to remain cheap, leading to higher capacity models being the cheapest. Also, Amazon are never honest about pricing (or paying taxes ). Everything is always on some sort of sale or another, and the "original" prices are often inflated. Use services like CamelCamelCamel to see if the price is actually reduced. https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com (obviously choose the correct territory once you get there, they do more than just UK price charts) Paste the Amazon url of a product you are looking at into their search bar, and they will show you a graph of its price history. This way you can see the cheapest price it has been sold for in the past, which will help you to figure out when it will next be on an actual sale, or if the current pricing is any good. Of course that is no replacement for comparing the price to established brick and mortar shops, which these days all tend to offer price matching, and are sometimes cheaper. Often with the product in stock and available the same day.
Found out the ANT landscapes addon for blender does erosion so I made a piece of test terrain and am probably going to use for a certain island based map of mine, anyways I thought i'd make a quick little piece of eye candy with it.
oh my god the backup camera was quite the pain in the ass, wound up taking everything back out and just putting everything back to stock for now, I need to figure out where the wires go for the yellow RCA, obviously one end goes to the camera and the other end goes to the rear camera input in the back of my pioneer head unit, but theres 2 little red pigtail wires on each end of the yellow plug, and every which way I hooked them up, didnt seem to work...ill take a stab at it again when I get the new replacement license plate bulb housings that I broke trying to reinstall...such a pain in the asssss.
yea they made one with a backup camera from factory, but that was obvious meant for the factory head unit and display screen. I retrofitted an 8 inch pioneer AVH system in with subs and new amps etc so most of the factory wiring is at a dead end. The new head unit has an input line for "backup camera" so theoretically I should be able to hook up the red pigtail wire on the head unit side of the yellow signal cable to that wire, but it doesnt seem to do anything. I checked polarity and source on/off settings in the settings menu on the actual head unit. Closest I got was the little LEDs to light up on the camera and the display says "Be Careful when Backing Up" or something but just a blank screen. I may have had my wires tapping into the reverse lights wrong, although theres only 2, positive and negative, so other than that theres another pigtail wire coming from the camera end of the yellow RCA wire, that I think might be whats causing me grief. The camera was 8 bucks from Ali Express, and as such, came with the obligatory horribly translated TINY font instruction page (about 2 inches long, 1 inch high wtf) and doing youtube research yielded me these morons that show you how it works, but not how they got it to work. its hair pulling to say the least. plus, 1 of the 5 car garages I park in has absolutely no HVAC so it was hotter than a mofo yesterday, almost 90 degrees, so i was sweaty and aggravated and just gave up on it lol
Got this new Winter Sweater. Its the fuzziest most velvety jacket and only for like 15 bucks at costco.
I have a 15€ chair from ikea as my 'office chair' (i have a so called "gaming armchair" that i use when playing with consoles.) I had a identical chair at our old house before it burned down. I bought another one as it was cheap and does its job fine. (had the old one for like 2 years, no issues) Here is a pic from ikea website, i cant add photos from my phone
I watched the cult classic "The Shining (1980)" to get into the mood of October, and is the first horror film I watched in years that wasn't Jaws.
Played around with the ANT Landscape blender addon some more and I'm pretty happy with the results, I also made a pretty cool looking shader. Now I just need to figure out the devs terrain workflow and I think i'll be able to update gilliy's island finally.
I have been trying to figure out how to get Blender to render heightmap, but so far no luck. It would indeed be very useful to be able to get meshes out as heightmaps.
wow just realized that on Monday, it will be my 5th year anniversary here as a member of BeamNG!! Its been a lovely stay so far.
If you want to render a heightmap in blender I could help you with that, but as for adding roads I still need to figure out the node setup.
