Audio Issues
No sound can be heard
- Ensure audio can be heard from other programs. If audio is muted for all programs, you need to fix that first.
- Ensure system-wide volume is correct and not muted.
- Ensure the in-game Options > Audio volume sliders are correct.
- Ensure you have selected the correct audio device as the default.
- Ensure the audio device is not configured to allow ’exclusive control’, or close any programs that may have ’exclusive control’ (such as Voicemeeter).
Crackling sound
This is most likely caused by combination of your hardware and software. Usually it happens when you use wired USB headset.
Try to record the gameplay and check if you hear this crackling sound.
- If yes, please check if the issue persists in Safe Mode, this could be caused by mods
- If no, unfortunately, there is no a solution, however, it’s possible to reduce this effect. Please try these:
- If you have a spare headset, please check if the issue persists. Issue should be gone if you use wireless headset.
- Try to update your audio drivers
If this doesn’t help, try this trick:
- Launch the game
- Wait until it fully launched
- Go to your sound panel on Windows taskbar
- Change the volume slightly
