Flood 1.4

Ever wanted to flood a map without using the level editor? Now you can with this script

  1. daniel-w
    New Version!
Read the changelog here: Flood - Updates | BeamNG

    How to use

    1. Open the Controls in the Options
    2. Search for "Flood"
    3. Bind a key
    4. Press that key and the menu will open, from there you can control the flood (This will only work when you have loaded into a map)

    Troubleshooting
If the key isn't opening the menu, try reloading the mod, or press CTRL + L to do a full reload of the Lua instance, this should ensure the mod get loaded correctly. However, I don't think this should be an issue anymore.

If the menu is grayed out, it means it could not find an ocean. If the map does have an ocean, then share the map name and I'll see what I can do.

Really Great Mod i'm surprised this feature wasn't in the game by default, Really well made although i mostly use it for the rain effect and I was wondering if it could be added as a standalone feature especially for Maps without oceans since it is such a unique feature, Really Good Mod Overall Though

Standalone as in just the rain stuff or? But if you mean having a way to flood maps that don't have an ocean by default, then I do plan on adding that. It's just a matter of when I get around to it, hopefully soon

It is very difficult to precisely change the speed value. 0.001 default is too slow. 0.01 or 0.1 is probably what i want but it's impossible for me to set it lower than 0.6. Using rain multiplier isn't any better.

There's a tooltip somewhere which says to hold CTRL and press left mouse on the slider so you can be as precise as you want, that should work for you :)

Maybe the mod didn't load, make sure it's enabled and try pressing CTRL+L to reload Lua

Great mod but can you add it on for Automation test track? it was a massive dam with water in it

      Author's Response
When I next work on it, I'll make it so it will work on maps without oceans. It wouldn't work well with a dam though because that doesn't cover the whole map

Great mod, but will you release a version with only the rain feature? I don't really use it for floods so that would be amazing!

I could maybe add this to my Environment+ mod when I can get around to updating that to 0.32 for ya if you'd like :)

Good mod but it doesn't work on maps like Polish roads or Alivieska bc they dont have an ocean. I tried adding water plane in world editor for ocean in those maps but it didn't work.

You might just need to reload the mod, it only looks for the ocean on map load or I think in the "onExtensionLoaded" function. Type this into the console: "extensions.reload('flood')"
