Yes, it has been forever since the last update, but I promise this is worth it!
NEW GEARBOX - VOITH DiWA NXT
Starting with the new gearbox, the 7 speed Voith DiWA NXT gearbox has been added. It shares the same sounds as the DiWA 864.5, but has 7 gears and better logic. It always finds the right gear for the right time, and I still kept the kickdown, because it's a necessity
NEW LOGIC - ZF ECOMAT 604
I have added new automatic gearbox logic to the ZF Ecomat 6HP-604/C using the Shiftlogic Automatic Transmissions. The torque converter in normal mode will lock in first at around 900rpm and stay locked, but in kickdown, it will lock in first at around 1500rpm, unlock for second, and then lock again around 1600rpm. This is more realistic, because this is exactly how it is in real life.
I have also added dynamic shifting speed, so when driving normally, it shifts slower for comfort, but in kickdown, it shifts really quickly to be faster, and it really forces you into your seat!
NEW LOGIC - ZF ECOLIFE
The ZF Ecolife has also got an update, but this is less of an update. I didn't completely swap out the gearbox logic for the shiftlogic transmissions, but I did change the way it acts. It uses the original BeamNG torque converter logic, so locks up in first around 900rpm, but stays locked. Only time it unlocks is slightly and that is on kickdown. It slips the converter to 75% of its full locking force for comfort. I also added dynamic shifting time to the Ecolife too, just like the 604/C.
WEAR FACTOR - ZF ECOMAT 500 AND 502/C SERIES
This was actually a suggestion from a person who reviewed the mod and then contacted me on discord. I have added worn out effects to the ZF Ecomat 500 and 502/C series of gearboxes.
Firstly, the torque converter locks in first, but it isn't smooth. It slams locked, and depending on your throttle input, it could nearly stall the engine.
Secondly is the shift smoothness. I have made it so that it slams into gears as it changes. You can see this by watching the update video, but when changing gears, you can see the body of the bus moving back and forth. This is how I have experienced the shifting on L94s and O405s using the 5HP-500 gearbox
REALISTIC SOUNDS - ZF ECOMAT 500 AND 502/C SERIES
I have recreated the sound of the 500 and 502/C series of gearboxes perfectly in BeamNG. You can watch the comparison video, where I compared it to a Scania L94 (Custom 228 Body, ZF Ecomat 5HP-500) from the game, and see how close to real life it actually is, apart from the engine sound.
ENDEAVOUR SUPPORT
If you have seen my other forum post, I am working on a new bus for BeamNG, called the Wentward Endeavour (bonus points to who can tell me the name of the real body). I have added support for all the gearboxes in this pack to be used with that when it is complete. It makes it easier for me, because if I need to update the gearboxes here, it also updates it in the Endeavour too, saving me having two different versions.
Anyway, that is the end of this update log. This is the longest one I have ever written, hopefully it isn't too long for the updates section!
