After ~1200 hours, I've come up with a few ideas...

Not sure how much the devs look into this part of the forum, but I'd figure I'd share some ideas I've had for the game in the ~5.5 years I've been playing.

New Vehicles Types (most of this is not so much "I want to drive" as it is "vehicle types that aren't currently represented")
    • Minivan
    • European (that is to say, flat-faced) semi cab
    • Modern supercar modeled closer to Ferrari/Lamborghini/Koenigsegg
    • Hybrid (perhaps an off-brand Prius, where the highest performance model is akin to the GT300 Prius racecar)
    • AWD hot hatch
    • Modern muscle car
    • Non-production race cars, like F1, LMP1, and the like
    For Existing Vehicles
    • Common
      • Wheelie bars for all RWD capable cars.
      • Wheelie bars with adjustable angle. Seriously, a wheelie bar should prevent a wheelie, not control how high your wheelie is.
      • Bolt pattern options for all, or nearly all vehicles (I can understand giving an exception to the Pigeon here)
    • D-series
      • 6 speed racing transmission and a radiator to handle the extra heat
      • Gooseneck attachment and trailers for it
    • T-series
      • 6 speed manual for hooning the T-600 turbo around.
    • K-series
      • Stage 3 variable turbo
      • Roll cage
      • Full racing variant with more aero than the Track config
    • SBR4
      • Split electric engines between front and rear, so we can have similar setups like that of the Porsche 919 hybrid where it's an ICE powered rear and electric powered front.
    • I-series
      • Front splitter. I once had the Pessima's modded in as it pretty much fits perfectly.
    Mechanics
    • Hybrid power
    • Anti-lag (which, I do recall a while ago a dev mentioning that this was not implemented due to a lack of fuel flow simulation. I am curious if this is still true now that we have backfiring)
    • Multi-stage NOS
    • Significantly more in-depth engine customization (I assume this is planned, but after buying Automation just so I can make Beam cars, I have fallen in love with the engine customization it offers)
    • Variable-ratio superchargers (we have them for turbos, so why not blowers?)
    • Obligatory multiplayer and VR
    • Not sure where in the priority list proper high-performance races are on the larger tracks, but here's my vote to have that priority bumped up.
    • Visual scratching effects
    • Have the "loop" functionality for script-AI smoothly transition to the next waypoint instead of hard-resetting to the beginning. This will allow for basically infinite lap races.
    • Change button mapping for H-pattern shifters when operating sequential gearboxes so that gear 3 is "shift down" and gear 4 is "shift up" in order to imitate real sequential stick shifts
    • Weather with functional windshield wipers. I always assumed this would be really hard, but a number of games have done it, so maybe it's not as difficult to code as I had always assumed
    • Tire thermals
    • Glow effects due to high heat
    Locations
    • Giant NASCAR-style oval track. I love the Indianapolis mod, but it's an FPS hog. I can only assume that a from-the-ground-up track built for Beam would be vastly lighter weight.
    • Saharn-Africa/Middle East desert environment for Dakar-style rallies.

there's mod for anti lag turbos, and hybrid is already in the game, although no stock car supports it.

pretty sure you can just replace the front diff on the sbr4 to the electric motor and it kinda works

I tried that some time ago by accident. It didn't work
