I will type this...........again for you Open Terrain editor (F11), Press Alt + V, go to the select tab, find DecalManager and click it, now there should be a no symbol next to it. Skids are off
I haven't tried the new version but to me, those graphics glitches seem like ones that would result from very low graphics settings. You could try raising the settings and see if it fixes those issues
--- Post updated --- Version 11 Development Roadmap: Desert Highway v11: Editing the map: Readding in a large amount of the decal roads which were lost. This means: Terrain will need work Textures will need to be replaced The roads have to be smooth Mesh roads will still have a presence in a much smaller amount. I hope to: Use a different decal road texture Use a different ground structure Explore vegetation options again Improve FPS (not guaranteed) Expected time to release? Maybe this weekend. Next is more likely.
--- Post updated --- So, I worked on Desert Highway for 6 hours today. Unfortunately, lots of little tedious work meant that overall little progress was made. However, here's what was done. Kept in the first 1 mile stretch of mesh road just out of spawn. Added cambered edges to that road which took 1 hour to complete. I didn't take pictures, sorry. Added in all the available road textures into the map's folder for later use. Added in a new dirt texture. Added guard barriers on the long mesh road stretch leaving the beach area. Best of all: Potentially...improved skid mark performance but I haven't investigated it that much. There's much more to do. No beta this weekend. I don't think I'll continue work until next weekend -Kyle
Okey doke, came into the map with a lot of hope.... quickly destroyed when the roads are flickering, the sky is flickering, shadows are just completely random (hovering over the car sometimes and absolutely not even related in shape) soler panels textures are funny. Whether I'm doing something wrong I don't know and maybe somebody can help me. However there is a lot of potential and if I can bring myself to overlook these issues I'm sure I'll love it
I'm sorry you're having issues. The roads flickering are soon to be fixed (less mesh roads in the next update). The sky flickering seems to be of issue on AMD branded cards AND when the game's lighting settings are on low. Shadows hovering above the car is nothing I've heard of. Could you send a picture? Also a picture of the Solar Panels? Not that you're doing anything wrong it's just that there may be some bugs I need to address. Help me out so I can help everyone else out --- Post updated --- Big day ahead today. I hope to get all the roads all set today. Will be looking at getting some of those awesome new ECA road textures into the map
Yes but not yet . Still lots to do --- Post updated --- Version 11 is LIVE. See first post! Also, watch this!
iheartmods updated Desert Highway Version 10: GPS, AI, 60+ Miles! with a new update entry: Version 11, Normalization; More Decal Roads! Read the rest of this update entry...
Great, i'm testing it right now ! --- Post updated --- Hey ! I love the map, it's great, far better with those decal roads to repeat myself. i didn't had time to explore it completly but here are the issues i saw. - The decal road overwrites half of the car wheels, that was more or least what it did before, but couldn't be a little bit lower ? - more annoying is that it's overwrites half of the flee car i chase. It's funny because i tried to do a screenshot, but the problem is less visible on it, so the image is pointless.
Yes, this is a bug with the latest version. I cannot adjust the decalBias (the setting revolving around that issue) in this update. This can only be done by completely replacing the roads and even then, the correct bias would be found on a guess and check solving method. Hope it will be fixed in the next update
Awesome to see this map still being updated! It really is my go-to map for just enjoying BeamNG. It really does have everything, from the fast, long highway, to the twisty hillclimb, and even some off road fun in the 4x4 vehicles. My absolute favourite mod in the whole of Beamng. Thanks for keeping it going
