I noticed that the Itasha livery is colorable, and that there's a second older version of the Italian Polizia livery :)

Yes sir! Plus, this "function over form" ethos also describes the IRL source of inspiration for the Hirochi models, so there's a solid base for them to step on and build their identity in the BeamNG lore! :)
    --- Post updated ---
I mean yeah, it could be made by Bruckell or Gavril, judging by the V8 swaps (which, again, are only swaps, not factory offerings - plus the 2.5 OHV I4 could also be a Bruckell LeGran engine if it didn't have about 30hp more than the said Bruckell engine in the late-80s, when the Hopper was introduced), because Hirochi and Ibishu models are Japanese and based off Japanese companies. Just like all other BeamNG cars are from a certain country that their IRL car brands, serving as their source of inspiration, are also from. And this is evident in the Hopper Classic variant, which is clearly inspired by the Willis Jeep and this is discreetly mentioned in its description as well.
And the hypothetical names sound really American too. Bruckell Hopper or Gavril Hopper, both are very nice IMO.

But I also like that it has the Ibishu nameplate because it's a nod of respect to the various Japanese no-name copies of the Wrangler we've seen over the decades! Not complaining at all! :)

Personally I have no problem with the wagon model. It isn't how I expected them to model the rear but now that I've had a few days to get use to it I really don't see anything "wrong" with it other than the lack of factory roof bars. Personally I like that it's a bit different, especially with Hirochi being a bit of a quirky conglomerate in general. Not saying that it's unattractive, but those that do think that should keep in mind that not every IRL car is a poster car and plenty of real cars are a bit odd. It would be weird if everything in BeamNG was intentionally good looking, we should have some odd quirky stuff in the roster. It's also a bit worrying to see the community react this way when so many people also want a 4 door Hopper. Has anyone actually seen a 4 door conversion Jeep TJ? I guess the AIL Storm doesn't look bad but basically all the other 4 door TJ conversions are hideous.

I do have to agree with some of the other criticism though.
    • The body/deformation zones don't feel right, and for a game that prides itself in realistic vehicle behavior that is worth more of a discussion.
    • I like the new tail lights, but the old ones would be a nice aftermarket selection. Overall there's very few cars in game that have aftermarket lighting options, which is a shame. That's an easy quick mod IRL that can really update the look of older vehicles and give a car a much different feel.
    • This update did a lot to standardize configs across the roster yet the Sunburst seems to handle a few things in a different way. For example I much prefer how the Lansdale and Bolide clearly labels alternate market configs in the name. The BX and Covet don't but other than the special editions they at least have a clear pattern in the nomenclature. I still hope to someday see a UI solution to market variations but given the current UI limitations having a consistent way to name these is the next best thing
    • I too miss the sunroof and hope to see it return
    • Again, I also miss the hill climb variant. Yes the time attack is similar, but I don't see any reason we can't have both. The time attack is an incredibly good config but I don't see any reason we can't have two flavors of top tier grip racing cars. Also the Nomi kit just looks great, especially when you get the whole set together from the entire vehicle roster. I'd love to see that kit on more cars.
    • Combining the last two, it would have been nice to see some of the configs we've gotten use to seeing. The JDM "runner" configs have been really cool to see and this could have gotten a JDM police version like the Covet and BX did. I'd love a drag config but that would be a very involved build compared to the others I mentioned... Hopefully when we start seeing drag racing get some attention the Sunburst will have some additions
    • I'm always going to ask to see more content so it's no surprise I have a wishlist of customization parts, but I do have to specifically mention the lack of vortex generator since they are so common on these cars. A DOT approved skid plate to really mirror how Jared use to have his set up would be great to see too.
    • I'm not sure what to say about how similar the wheels are to the ETK wheels. It is a bit odd, but they just look so good on this car that I don't want to see them go away. Perhaps we could see them replaced with something closer to the similar wheels the Impreza had/has.
None of this is to say I'm disappointed in this remaster. Overall it's an incredible remaster. The new body proportions look great and I love the more aggressive factory hood. The handling, especially with the center diff and anti-lag, feels great. The new rally configs/parts/classes are really great to see and hopefully we keep seeing stuff like that. The new interior and engine bay is very pretty to look at, and the new rally body kit is awesome. It's certainly an update that will have me using this car a lot more often

There's also a few things missing in the Sunburst Remaster:

JDM-Spec and UK-Spec model. Because it's a Japanese car, and it feels lacking without a RHD model. There should be a RHD interior and wipers, as well as the rear right fog light as well, for it to have a UK model.

But it's an incredible remaster because I wished for it. :D

It might be time constraints why these didn't appear, but I wish all of this will be included in 0.36.

The main visual flaw with TJ four-door conversions in my eyes is that they use front doors for the rear units, and they don't line up. That's the main visual flaw. The entire concept is flawed, but oh well.
And the sunroof needs to come back. Come on, no sunroof in the Sunburst? Blasphemy! The hillclimb configuration was super fun, too, and I think having both taillight options would be good as factory options. Cheaper models could have red, higher-end ones clear. Or vice-versa, whatever.

Unlike SBR4, the revamped Sunburst doesn't have eDiff logic (electronic diff lock) on the open differential. The 2.5 Comfort cannot pass diagonal wheel roller test(but the 1.6 base can)

I remember some cars also having illuminated side markers despite being EUDM. The late-90s Volvo S40 and S80, for example, have such lights, only being amber on both ends, and the 2004 S40 (plus the 2006 C30) has amber markers in its headlights.
The first Volvo S60 has the full USDM set though! Ambers at the front, red ones at the back!
The BMW 5 E60 also has such lights at the top of its head-/taillight clusters on both ends, despite also having the typical USDM amber bumper marker lights at the front.
The 2017 Honda Civic also has them on the front.
Nothing weird here, just a bit of cost cutting for the companies to be able to conform with the regulations of different countries.

I have no issue with wagon, from mid 00s to early 10s Japanese automakers made some quite quirky designs.

I know that such cars actually exist, but I would prefer to have the option of omitting the sidemarkers, just as other cars that separate EUDM and USDM do. In addition, most of the EUDM (and JDM) Japanese cars of the time either omitted the side markers or replaced them with indicator lights.

The only real problem with the Sunburst is the weak passenger cell.

I noticed that as well. Overall apart from sport RS configs (which are great), the awd system in more basic variants seems surprisingly primitive and inept.

Likely an oversight, I don't think a CVT is meant to have S mode.

I have nothing to report about any bugs, but the remaster is incredible and very good!
It exceeded my expectations at the time, I never imagined that they would add an Itasha version to the car, I loved that skin along with the rally and drift skins, I believe that the fear of the people who were there if it was remastered was to remove the CVT versions but now we have 7 and that is good for some people who like it, but what I found sad was that they removed the hillclimb configuration, but the track attack is there so just enjoy it. I loved the remastering of the car, it was wonderful!

(when I notice a bug I'll let you know here in the topic)

I don't think that is an oversight - CVTs often have "sport" modes meant to mimic a traditional automatic transmission.

Speaking of oversights, I hope that the lack of a 6-speed manual of any kind is also an oversight. I made a big ol' post about how all the other vehicles that don't have a six-speed are very old, very specialized, very basic, or rear mid-engined. The Sunburst is none of these - it's just baffling to me that it doesn't have that transmission type.

I actually love the wagons look. It looks different and and I would love one IRL. Sad no rhd version. Otherwise absolutely perfect IMHO.

Oh other then I miss the red tail light option lol.

I know this is the Sunburst thread, but I just can't hold it guys!
I had an idea last night: since Hirochi is the weird, fun but equally practical brand of the BeamNG lore, I believe a small, light, Flat-4-powered, 2-door, 2-seater, rally-bred Coupe, with the same Sport RS Active AWD system with adjustable Center Diff Lock, would make perfect sense.
Not talking about a 2-door Sunburst, mind you, but about something more specialized, like the Prodrive P2! A shortened Sunburst floor pan, the front-mounted UEL 2.0 and 2.5 Flat-4 powertrains with the Sport RS Active AWD w-CDL, the Sunburst suspension components, the race seats in blue, these parts offer a great base for such a car! It could even have NGRC 1, NGRC 2 and Track Attack variants!!

I also found a name for it: the Hirochi XRP-2 (Xperimental Rally Prototype-2 adults)! :)

I have to agree with this. It has a very strong front that barely deforms in crashes. The cabin deforms in crashes that in real life would not happen as a result.
