It's been a while since some last updates on the map's update progress, so here's some pictures of the expanded new town and a race track that comes with it! Yes it's oval, but let's be fair, a simple oval puts a race car to a real test of speed and then braking, cornering and acceleration, while also dealing with the map's hot temperatures which overheats every single thing in the engine, oil, coolant, everything. I'm sorry for such a delay, lot's of things are happening i can't really control everything at once. I'm a human, not a factory. --- Post updated --- If anyone wonders how it looks like driving on it, here's the video.
Added another track inside of the oval one. It connects with the oval entrance / exit so there are in total of 3 layouts possible on this track. Plenty of fun driving on it. --- Post updated --- And this is how it looks driving on it.
Currently working on AI Race missions for that new track, There will be plenty, most of which is just different kind of opponents. Even an opportunity of a life time - citybus race.
AI Races with different opponents are done, totalling the amount of AI Races on a single track to 23 missions. 9 on the oval layout (blue), 8 on the secondary layout (red) and 6 on the mixed layout (yellow). . The town is not done yet as i plan to add a port somewhere in it. Regarding the so called "intense camera shaking" issue on the map that most of you experience (it's also called "floating point error" as it is related to the CPU). There's a chance that 0.34 update might fix this issue, not sure how true this is but @Willfa (the creator of revised BeamNG launcher and an experimental "entirety of the world" map) has talked to tdev (a BeamNG developer) on Discord about the issue and they said "we mostly fixed the camera issue", basically meaning there's going to be no shaking, or at least some but not as noticeable as it is right now. There's that i guess.
Working on a long curved highway bridge. It's pretty long enough and makes it a perfect place to test your car's top speed. I will place the port right next to it, initially i wanted to do it in the town but i changed my mind. How'll it'll look like i don't know. Speaking of the bridge, it's nearly done, all it needs is piers.
Hello. I resumed working a bit on the map now. Sorry for a delay again, it's done intentionally to not get a burn out on modding. Which is frankly the worst thing that could happen since i really like doing it. Currently working on the port area of the map (first time making one) It features two car hauling platforms, one for the ferry boat (https://www.beamng.com/resources/belasco-heavy-industries-dh-139.32494/) and another one for the flat top barge (https://www.beamng.com/resources/flat-top-barge.22401/). In the middle is the boat landing, there's only one mod that has boat trailer and it's the speedboat (https://www.beamng.com/resources/speedboat.14354/) On the far right is the small port for cargo, so there's plenty of containers and three cranes. Just started making it today so there's nothing really much on it apart from those things. Also if you notice, the water is different and more blue, the reason behind it is that the world reflection somehow got broken in this update whenever the UI is hidden or i'm in Photo Mode (Could be video drivers since i'm on a GTX 1050Ti). So i changed it up and in some cases it turned out better than i thought it would. After the port i will work a bit on the buildings on the beach coast in a new town and expand the highway that you see in the far on both screenshots. See ya.
this looks very promising I'm on intel uhd 620 yet it runs soooo well........ keep up the good work..
Yoo, great work man, this map is really taking shape now. I wonder how much the FPS has taken a hit with a new city, props, and more.
how is it going with this map any news with changes to the map i hope that there could be added ev chargers at more places
There's some but not really complete yet to even show it. There's lots of things to do, but i might release the update with some things not being finished. If even lucky, i might release it on repo.
It's been almost if not already a year since i started working on the update. By far this is the only project i have that has took so long to update for many reasons. I think it's time to just publish it on repo and then update it later.
