Let's talk about Crawlers

With the revival of a few old crawler maps, I got to wondering, what is everyones favorite vehocle and map for crawling. I actually bought this game, because of Whybeare's (I think that is how it's spelled) Youtube vid about the Helljeep (Now called the Hellhopper).

Since then I've played with every possible vehicle that had a crawler loadout in it, yes even the Burnside crawler. My favorite map is Crawl Central (https://www.beamng.com/threads/crawl-central-updated-for-0-5-0-0.16119/page-3 Working mods is towards the bottom of the page 3), this is where i test every new crawler that comes out. Small enough you don't have to put in a whole day, but technical enough to make it fun.

Right now i have two favorite crawlers, one is a recent mod called the Brawler (https://www.beamng.com/resources/trackfab-brawler.11905/), Created by Trackpaduser, it's a great crawler and i love the ballast system in the wheels. makes for a very stable crawler. I wish there were more drivetrain choices and possible different suspension types, but it's solid and great none the less. I do like the dig transfer case and 4 wheel steering as well
The other mod and the one i have run the longest, is the Offroad Hopper Mega pack (https://www.beamng.com/threads/offroad-hopper-mega-pack-updated-07-12-17.38572/) created by Jacklumba and later took over by hog0005. This mod is the one i compare every other crawler to, it's almost perfect. it has an extremely adjustable suspension (height, dampening, spring rate, wheelbase, everything). The number of engines/drivetrains is outstanding, due to the hopper itself having a lot of other mods that work together. Almost every wheel/tire mod for off road work as well. Like the Brawler, This mod also has the 4 wheel steering and dig style transfer case.

The only real issue with the Offroad Hopper mega Pack is it's outdated, but it still works for me, but only because i'm particular of which mods i run. If it conflicts with the OHMP, it doesn't get used by me. I know at some point the mod will probably die, but at the moment it still works. The creators have not worked on it in a long time, But it's still a very solid mod, if you wish to check it out, I hope it will work for you as well.

I have opinions on all the crawler mods, but these are the two best in my opinion. What are your favorite crawlers and maps for playing with them?

 

Well, I don't really have a favourite crawler (yet ), but my favourite crawling map is the offroad trail on American Road. Just love it & the map itself
