Thank you. @FTamino is creating a rehash of the Italy map, including train tracks. The map's discussion page indicated that some tracks would terminate at the sea port so that trains could board barges. I figured this was the time to build the rail barge terminal. Also, I was inspired to make an attempt at creating my own custom Italy map, with rail service, of course. I will be using an imaginary tunnel boring machine to dig out an expansive military base under the main island. I've already created a subterranean dock that can house an aircraft carrier. Some parts of the base will even have rail service. I'm going to post some pics tonight. Even in the sections that have been dug out and concrete poured, there's still a lot of detail work to do: misc pipes, other industrial stuff, lighting, and signs (because visitors WILL get lost in there).
What is this large structure on the corner of the Italy main island? ...and what's that sticking out of it? Oh, no. What am I up to? A subterranean naval base?? I need to install a carousel track to reverse a train's direction, and install misc pipes and other industrial details in the base complex, and a bunch of other stuff.
I figured out how to use "zones" and "portals" to affect ambient lighting in tunnels and ridiculously huge, subterranean ship docks. We worked all night to finish the uptake pipe for the desalinization plant: I might need to brighten up the lights a little bit, unless dim is better because "headlights, bro". What do you think? Keep it dark so that headlights make a noticeable difference, or brighten it up so that that people can see the work they're doing, like a real base would be? Yes, rails run through the base. There's a loading platform off-frame to the right: There's a canal that will run from the supercarrier dock to a large subterranean harbor under the big mountain in Italy: ...and, of course, tanks for the huge amounts of jet fuel we use: I need to decorate the area with objects that one would expect to find in an underground base: Railings - It's nice to not fall in the water. Various Tanks - ...to hold stuff. Pallets - ...to put stuff on. Waste bins - ...to dispose of stuff. What other objects would be good to put around the base? Where on what map would I find them?

I agree. The underground dock area is a large volume that headlights alone can't illuminate in it's entirety. It's hard to see the scale unless it's all lit at once. Here's a little tour video:

Which bunker? Also, all of the tunnels go under the map. Thank you for spotting that. I fixed the texture problem and updated the ZIP file. I can take a peek at it.
I was looking at the Generic City airstrip, and it appears that there's already some lighting on the airstrip, and around the city in general. I switched the time-of-day to night, and I saw what's in the attached video (Generic_City_Airstrip.mp4). I'd have to remove the existing lights to make it look right. I'll add it to the mod list. I'll need time to get to it. Also, those skyscrapers could use some red marker lights. Fewer planes would crash into them at night.

There are several blast doors around the map. I think you might be referring to the blast door behind Stolidero's House: There are some areas that are still under construction. I thought that I'd have that tunnel section complete by now. Is this the blast door you're referring to?
Yeah, the tunnel isn't complete behind that door. It will eventually lead to the top of Mega Chamber #1. I've just been working this poor cement truck nonstop: It got tired. It's taking a nap.
I "discovered" a new chamber in the Tunnels of Italy (see post 369 of this thread). It looks like the chamber used to house an old Mark I fusion reactor. The chamber has a laboratory-like feel to it. This might be the first Mark I. Most of the reactor support machinery appears to have been removed when it was decommissioned. Only the core and reactant injectors remain: I'm going to attempt to find where the reactor support machinery was stored and reinstall as much of it as I can salvage. A welding tip for the crane arm helps out a lot: Note to all personnel: If you're working in any of the tunnels and you find some fusion reactor support gear, please let me know.
