We got even more accessories for the TGS. I updated the mod with some cargo toys:
    • "Cranable" versions of the standard cargo containers
    • "Cranable" versions of the Forklift Compatible Loads
    screenshot_2024-02-16_00-27-29.png

I also added a new mod that puts cargo container couplers on the Cistern railcar frame.

The railcar container coupler mod and the new TGS accessories should be released in the next day or so.

The BeamNG.navy needs to make some extra cash, so we're carrying commercial cargo as a side gig. Cargo is very safe with us, and we charge a premium for it. Pirates would have to be absolutely insane to even consider attacking our ships.

Are you ever going to do an STOL version of the C172 Skyhawk by DrowsySam? I think if you just add more strength to the nodes and add the STOL features it will be a pretty good naval plane.

Also does anybody know how to fix the textures on the Me-262? Mine looks super-chrome and has rusts on it

Me-262 looks like that because it does not have PBR materials

I’ll STOL any plane. It’s just a matter of getting around to it. I gotsa lotsa mods on my to do list. :)

The ME262 also has some parking brake issues. No carrier ops right now because the plane can’t keep from rolling off the deck. There have also been problems with the 262’s rudder effectiveness.

The B25 also seems to be having some brake issues.

I think someone or the owner should make an update on the mod fixing the brakes and the materials

@HighBeam9000 Are you ever going to make a Me-262 Brakes&PBR fix mod? That would be really amazing and everyone would love it.

I’ve peeked into the 262 files. I need to learn more about how the brakes work. I need the brakes and control surfaces to work properly for carrier ops. If I figure something out, I’ll roll a solution into the STOL conversion kit for the 262. It would be an easier task for the creator.

Im trying to make the engine throttle controls on the Me-262 split, and I really need some tips

I haven't done any engine work. I haven't even looked inside the ME262 engine files. It would take me some time to bring myself to understand the engines.

It seems that there is a variable for both engines separately, there just isn't a keybind slot for it. All we need is to work out how the lua to inputmaps works
    --- Post updated ---
I also changed the electronic throttle names under the engine jbeam files to "throttleL/R" But that doesn't seem to do anything

So, the end result you’re looking for is independent throttles for each engine, so that one can be throttled up/down without affecting the other?

In other news, I looked into the 262 brake problem, and it appears to be related to the lack of rudder authority when taxiing. When taxiing, the airflow isn’t fast enough for the rudder to do anything. If the speed is low enough, the rudder activates differential L/R braking to affect steering. This stuff is in the updateGfx function in me262.lua. I know the updateGfx function is being called because I can observe some of its other activities. It’s possible that the way brakes work changed from when the me262 worked last. The AN-12’s brakes still work. Maybe the 262 brakes can be changed to work the way the AN-12 brakes work. I’m going to study both their braking mechanisms further.

The Me-262 in fact has left and right toe brakes as keybinds, but they don't seem to work, also if you go into the Me262.lua file and find the brakes, you'll see the brakes are assigned to the old default brake system, I'm not too sure about how the brake works, but that could be a point to be worked on.

And yes I am trying to have separate throttles for my flight sim kit

I think it is necessary to make a discord server to store files, that way we won't lose data if we ended up like the E170 mod

I mean Jbeam isn't so difficult with the introduction of the beam editor, so I think there could be some higher quality meshlaps.

    Sorry for the delay.

The implementation of a split throttle might be accomplished like this:
    • Wire up input actions for the following:
      • Left throttle
      • Right throttle
      • Unified throttle (affects both engines)
    • Wire up the lua in a similar way as the differential brakes for the ME262:
      • Each engine maintains its own throttle setting, even when throttling them together.
      • Adjusting the left throttle affects only the left engine. Same with the right.
      • Making adjustments to the unified throttle affects both engines, setting the throttle of both engines to the unified setting.
I can't seem to find another method of implementing differential braking besides the method the ME262 already uses. I could change it to brake like the AN-12, which would fix the parking brake problem, but wouldn't fix the taxi steering issue. The fix might just be as simple as specifying an additional controller. For example, the MAN TGS has spinning amber beacon lights, but they didn't spin when I first obtained it. I added the spinning beacon controller to the TGS files and the beacons were able to spin again. I'm guessing that the spin controller was something that didn't have to explicitly be specified in the past, but now it does.

This is good if we want to optimise for both keyboard and throttle users, which is pretty much what I thought would be best. The problem is I'm not really good with the codes, so I'll check out the documentation first
(also I'm making the Meow 262, and I don't know how to map the textures)

The last time I needed to wrap a texture, my first step was to wrap a numbered grid pattern around the vehicle, like this one:
    Test_Barge_Skin.png
This helped me find which parts of the texture were mapped to the different parts of the vehicle.

You could try to edit one of the DDS files that came with the vehicle. However, the last time I tried to open one of those in GIMP, it was unable to be opened.

    In other news:
I'm starting to build a concrete mixing plant to support all of the construction efforts on the Tunnels of Italy map:

    screenshot_2024-03-03_09-27-53.png
When completed, the concrete mixing plant will be on the island immediately to the north of the main island. It will have a working concrete dispenser. I've also built a very long bridge connecting these two islands. More bridges will be built later to connect the remaining northern islands, giving the player the choice of air, land or sea to transport stuff around these islands.

@HighBeam9000 New discovery: The B-25 Mitchell mod might have used the Me-262 low-speed taxi turning brakes, and it's fixed. Check out the files of it(V 7.0+)

I think you should Make an airfield on the outer islands
