I love it! The handling is perfect (if not a little too good) considering the stock suspension and wheel setup
There are no suspension sounds after my suspension overhaul. I reduced the "beamSpring" of front and rear shocks to zero, as it is in the Barstow and Miramar rear shocks. The "beamSpring" in the shocks had some negative effect on handling. I'll try to find a way to make the sounds work again for the pickup update.
Working license lights, working interior dome light and working switches all pretty detailed, but the fact that the high beam switch on the floor actually depresses when you turn the high beams on... That's the kind of attention to detail I love. This is the most detailed mod made for Beam yet. Amazing work.
mike94 updated Satsuma 210 '58 with a new update entry: Hotfix for 3.0 Read the rest of this update entry...
I noticed that the 1500 Panel Van is missing. There is a 1000 Panel Van, A 1200 Panel Van but no 1500 Panel Van (I dont mean the deluxe versions btw)
I put the 1500 engine only to the Deluxe models, because there are already 37 presets now and much, much more after the pickup and convertible bodies are done. It's hard to maintain the huge number of presets. If some adjustment changes the weight or top speed, for example, I have to update all the info.json files.
Could you maybe make a Smaller (fictional) less powerful rotary? the 13B is amazing but its a swap and way to powerful whilst the Japanese experimented with the Rotary as an economy engine also a minor thing: the Automatic Gear Selector display covers the odometer (which is a pity)
I'm planning to remodel the gear display to look more Japanese, like this Toyoglide display, which is located on top of the shifter base. The original rotary engine would be unrealistic, because Mazda made experiments with it starting in '63, four years after the Datsun 210/211 series production ended. But I don't see why it can't be made one day. It would be cool engine choice for the custom convertible model.
Amazing going 180km/h with a naturally aspirated 13B and a 4-Spd Auto in this thing is pretty frightening. Also, What car is the one in your pic?
I like this mod, but could I make a request for a future update? Perhaps a police variant? Here's one type of light you can add to the vehicle, perhaps have an undercover version to start with?
Is it normal when you crash in certain ways, the odometer now moves? I really like the working odometer though
To be honest the 1500 does seem to only be that special kind of car. Also maybe you could add a pickup truck body? (Thinking of it reminds me of a 50's GMC)
Tip: he mentioned pickup and convertible bodies in the post you quoted --- Post updated --- After requesting a low power Rotary i decided to make one myself. (Feel free to take and add it mike.) I attached the modified 210_engine_rotary.jbeam that adds the following 753cc Rotary Engine 80[hp] 107[Nm] for our imperial friends: 79[bhp] 79[lb-ft] Top speed is around 120kph (topped out on grid pure at around 135 after about 2km) 2-Speed Automatic Transmission Gear Ratios from the normal 2-Spd (67' toyoglide) Displays correct Gear Indicator and uses the correct step size (needle is centered on the letters) Models of Engine and Gearbox are the same as the normal rotary. i hope its worthy of your satsuma mike Installation: drag the file into satsuma_210_by_mike94.zip>vehicles>satsuma_210 and replace the stock file
I've put this in a zip with configs to make things easier. Just drop in the mods folder and done. Also, if anyone can help me figure out why my thumbnails aren't working, that'd be great. Link to download: https://beamng.com/threads/satsuma-210-weaker-rotary-pack.40695/
Yes, I have. I think it's a problem with the way I did my configs, because this is my first modding attempt.
the xxx.pc, the info_xxx.json and the xxx.png must have the same name and the png does have to be in a certain resoultion that i dont remember.
