Probably with mountain ranges. Correct me if im wrong im not familiar with the surroundings of the teased Johnson Valley map
Whoever that person is, when she gives you early access to creator program, please violate the NDA because the update speculation thread is more important than you not being imprisoned
It might be that the tube-frame buggies are way easier to make than the regular cars - there's likely not as many configs necessary for them, their frames are way easier to make, and they can use pre-made engines and suspension components. Also, as to who guessed Johnson Valley first, it might have been Manfred, with how often he speaks of it, but there are many other off-road enthusiasts on here. (Hi! What's it like having an update with so much stuff for y'all, after not getting much off-road content for so long? Probably really great, right?)
With all you guys wrote above, I'm rooting towards a modular platform off-roader. The D-Series can be turned into both a small 3-door SUV and a full-on extended heavy-duty truck, and this one would make sense this way too, i.e. the piccobuggy and the SBR buggy sharing the same model, just different bodies (and underbodies). Also, damn, this map huge.
Didn't work, am offended. Please only use hamburgers as units of length. And mass. And energy. Not sure who specifically you're referring to but I can think of maybe 3 people who have been suggesting Johnson Valley. I did a few weeks ago and referenced Ken Block's video from Plaster City and there was maybe 2 or 3 other community members as well.
Yeah probably that. But it’ll be hard for them to not make those mountain feel claustrophobic. Maybe if the map is really big it’ll feel less so, but a map like Italy only surrounded by mountain would feel a bit weird I think. Anyway, we’ll soon enough see how they manage that
Is the creator branch being updated meaning that YouTubers now have the update? When was this branch updated for 0.26? Like how long before the main update?
Usually it's about five days between the creator branch and public branch being updated, which means we might see 0.27 as early as Monday
The van fits into the current 6-month release schedule for all-new regular street vehicles - the Bastion was released in December of last year, while the Scintilla was released last June. The Wigeon was also released in June of last year. Likewise, the trophy truck is also a tube-frame vehicle with a pre-made engine, so it, too, would've been quite easy to make. I reckon some of the trophy truck stuff got ported over to the T-Rex buggy and this new green rock crawler thing, making development even easier and faster.
This is the vibe for the new map and vehicles, this is what plays in your head as you cruise the bed of a long-extinct ocean in a makeshift buggy
Yeah, Italy was very easy since its an island you have to do zero work of caging it in. But i have to say im reaaaally looking forward to this update. At first i wasn´t the happiest about all this offroad stuff but then they teased the Autobello Brick and the rest of the stuff and i just can´t deny it all looks gorgeous! But im a sucker for any beam content even if i complain a little at first. I myself couldn´t thought of even one update i disliked.
I'm more into whatever the team is making at that moment . Personally if I had to list a favorite motorsport discipline it would probably be vintage racing. While I'm not nearly good enough to tame much anything of that era in a sim game, they all just look so cool! I was never into trucks until the D-Series remaster, really not an off roading guy but been looking a lot at Baja/KoTH since the trophy truck teaser, etc... I suspect the trophy truck, T-Rex buggy, and this solid axle T-Rex buggy cousin are all the "same" vehicle. They are all roughly the same size, probably similar engine configs, and seem to use a lot of assets from the existing crawlers. Just adjust the chassis itself as needed. I doubt the Piccobuggy is in this set though, it's smaller and uses assets from the Piccolina but not the crawlers. There's also the fact that Leeloo said she'll tease the T-Rex buggy and then showed a fairly low slung crawler with a solid front axle, which confirms that at least that buggy is fairly configurable. Yeah, this map looks huge. Really excited to see the size and what's up with that town. IRL Johnson valley is, well, a valley, so the map border will probably be a lot of steep mountains and maybe a road with a landslide blocking it.
