Man I can't wait for this update. I'm still more excited about this update than any release this year.
I think a July 7th-9th release would happen if they started debugging and stuff, but a July 14th-16th would probably happen if they didn’t start debugging yet.
thinking about the fact that the game came out the same year i was in kindergarten and im a grown ahh man
The update of 0.23 was shocking enough for me at that time. Looking back at version 0.23 now, it seems that the graphics is not so good, but it really shocked me in 2021.
Lowkey praying it releases on july 12 since thats my birthday would make for a nice surprise also kinda hoping that we get an update on the tire physics model, i know its not planned for 0.39 but a progress report would be cool
Im starting to think, update season is on the way, I guess you could say that since end of may? OT, I wonder how they will handle the PS5 release, Will 0.39 Drop same time? Will it be Normal for PC users for now then later the PS5?
I have something like that right here (I expanded this to include 0.3 - 0.3.7.8, when I usually stop at 0.3.8.1, just to emphasize my point): As you can see, Saturday and Sunday are the least common days for an update to drop, and there haven't been updates on either day in a long while. Tuesday and Wednesday are the most common days (and the most recent). Also, when updates have dropped in the month: As you can see, the 20th, 29th, and 30th are the most common days of the month. There also are some days of the month which have never gotten a major update (the 24th and 28th), and several days which haven't had updates in years (like the 1st, 12th, and 26th). Yeah, I agree. However...I just realized something - the last (and only) release on the 8th of the month was 0.19, the FCV update. It's possible that the devs plan to drop the update on the 8th of July. I wonder if the original plan was to release the update on the 8th of April (the same day that 0.19 dropped), but that was scrapped, and we got 0.38.5 instead (which dropped on that date). I know it's a bit strange to single out the 8th, but the FCV was clearly a special car to the devs - they were willing to write up a huge devblog detailing the development process for the car, something they haven't done before or since for any specific vehicle. The only other major special thing that the devs have done for any vehicle (for the devblogs) has been the Scintilla brochure that hasn't been done for any vehicle before or since. (There were the two workflow devblogs from many years ago, but those are more about the process of making cars, and less about the cars themselves.) That isn't happening, unfortunately. 12 July 2026 is on a Sunday, which the devs haven't released an update on in almost 11 years.
Valid, but my main concern here (and one of the reasons I was kinda hoping for a longi R/AWD setup) is the annoying "baked-in" understeer that comes with the FCV's engine being located entirely ahead of the front axle. The Vivace 410Q Arsenic lacks the reverse stagger of its IRL counterpart (running 245s all around instead of 245s in the rear and 265s up front), but I'm also hoping that might change with the Ardente, especially since less body over the rear is liable to aggravate the weight balance.
Oh, yeah, quite a few people on Reddit were hoping for the car to be RWD. However, there are a lot more RWD vehicles in the game (28, if you include the Autobuggy and MR Turbo) than there are FWD (11, including the Tograc and robot van). Since 0.22 (the Wendover update), the majority of new vehicles have been rear- or all-wheel-drive (the exceptions being the Lansdale and robot van). And the Sunburst switched to L-FWD recently. So, I absolutely don't mind that this car is T-FWD. I will admit that most of those RWD/AWD/4WD vehicles we've gotten have been old (Nine), heavy (MD/HT/WL), slow (Wydra), and/or off-road-focused (Stambecco/SPs). The last post-1984 RWD production cars we got were the Scintilla and Bastion, and those are four-five years old. Before them were the ETKs, which are about 10 years old. However, what preceded both the ETKs and the Scintilla/Bastion were a FWD car ('88 Pessima/Wendover) and a pre-1984 RWD car (Burnside/Wigeon). So, I think the next car could be a RWD vehicle. I reckon that the Ardente was chosen to be based on the FCV platform to focus development on new features instead of modeling new engines or suspension components. This car's supposed to be the most advanced vehicle in the roster - might as well save time where possible.
and also since its based kinda on the Audi TT which came FWD from standart exept you ordered a Quattro drivetrain it only makes sense that it is fwd with an optional AWD Drivetrain
Yeah. Also, the devs likely know that people prefer RWD/AWD cars over FWD, since almost every time a FWD car has released, at least two RWD/AWD cars come afterwards: -Covet: Released alongside D/H/Marshal and Bolide; followed by Moonhawk and Pigeon -Sunburst: Released alongside T-Series; followed by BX/Roamer -'96 Pessima: Followed by SBR/Barstow -'88 Pessima: Followed by ETKs/Miramar -LeGran: Followed by Hopper, DT40L, Piccolina, and Bluebuck -Wendover: Followed by Wigeon, Bastion, Scintilla, and 0.27 vehicles -Lansdale: Followed by Aurata, MD, Nine, WL-40, and HT-55 The only exception (in almost 13 years of releases and about 40 vehicles) is the FCV, which released between the Bluebuck and Wendover. That's it. Now, my question is: if the devs know that RWD/AWD cars are so much more popular (and they've known that for this long), why didn't the Covet and '96 Pessima get AWD in their remasters? That's always been so strange to me.
That can't be right... you'd be like 10 years old at most... right...? Oh god... I was in kindergarten.... during 9/11... I was driving when the first public release of Beam occurred...
