Stig is copyrighted. And devs don't just take someone's copyrighted model to rebrand it and put in the game.

Are there any pictures of the 2018 UI? I would just like to see how it looks.

Obviously they would make something from scratch, even if the Stig wasn't a licenced character it's a really old model by now and won't be up to the current standards, same for the crash test dummy.

The quality of the game has really improved in the near 10 years this game has been accessible to the public.
"Yeah yeah, You love stating the obvious. Don't you, Kyle?"

BeamNG is really starting to feel properly polished not just a whole bunch of vaguely gamey shaped pieces cobbled together

For the past nine updates there's been major level related content in each.

    0.13 - Automation Test Track
    0.14 - Glow City
    0.15 - Italy
    0.16 - Major Italy improvements
0.17 - ECA, Hirochi Raceway, and Derby Arenas remasters
    0.18 - Utah remaster
    0.19 - Small Island remaster
0.20 - Industrial Site and Port merger/remaster and major Derby Arenas improvements
0.21 - Major WCA improvements and JRI remaster

Given this trend, one would assume that we'd be getting some sort of level related content. Gridmap seems far too early in development to ship, and in the dev builds it appears to be unchanged (however, given how different the new Gridmap is, it's probably a completely separate level from the current in internal builds).

There are a number of other potential options:
    1. Some sort of all new level - Highly unlikely, we know about no new levels whatsoever and something dropping out of nowhere would be a massive shock.
    2. ETK Driver Experience Center Remaster - This map has pretty much been forgotten by the developers and just kinda "exists" at the moment. Given it's the last remaining "normal" map, I'd assume that it's well overdue for some much needed polish. I'm really hoping for an expansion and some more areas to visit, as it is our only German map at the moment, but we'll just have to wait and see.
    3. Cliff Remaster - No idea what this would look like, but Cliff has been unchanged for years. I doubt that in the final game it's going to look the same. Maybe they might add some points of interest/roads to the map as it has really interesting geography and is quite large, but i'd assume most potential improvements would be more slopes/rocks to smash into on the way down or as obstacles to climb up. (It would be really cool if they made this a volcano with caves or something, it would make sense given it being a giant mountain in the middle of the ocean). A good cliff remaster, although it sounds kinda stupid, could be really cool if executed correctly.
    4. Automation Test Track/Italy improvements - Given how the quality bar has been raised by the remasters, these maps might receive a bit more polish/touch ups to be more consistent with the newer maps. Italy could definitely use some more detail in its forests, as they're quite barren and for the most part lack roads going through them, and some more foliage and points of interest in them could go a long way. It also really feels like that valley going through Citta Vecchia could be a really cool waterfall running from the top of the mountain, through the city and the countryside, and into that unused canal in Fastello. A more minor touch up could be updating the shipping containers in the port to the new models to be consistent with Small Island, Industrial Site, and Jungle Rock Island. Automation Test Track has a lot of unused space south of the river, and that could definitely be room for further expansion. It could also benefit from some updated assets here and there and more a bit more polish.

I know the Gridmap remaster is a thing, and I acknowledged it in my post. The thing is they're basically rebuilding the entire map from the ground up, and it only left the concept stage a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's gonna ship this update or not. The thing is, I doubt the level team spent all their time from late December - early March exclusively making concepts for a remaster. I suspect there's probably something else in the works, but I don't know what.

    I know this
I just think that gridmap wouldn't be really that time consuming, plus the fact that they teased as part of this roll of tuesdays
I just don't think that a gridmap remaster shipping this update is impossible

I think if they were truly shipping another remaster or new map entirely, it would've been in the place of that teaser tuesday

you may kid, but i wouldn't be surprised if they replace the ground texture with one from the new gridmap.

I certainly see where you're coming from, but the thing about gridmap compared to other maps is there's nowhere near as much detail work needed to complete it.
the rendered preview they showed off had a lot of completed textures and models in it, and the layout has already been determined, so all that needs to be done is placing in all of the meshes.

I totally understand that, I'd like to see it too, but I'm just a little skeptical about completion that fast, that's all.

Teaser Tuesdays don't always correlate with the next update. For example the teasers before 0.20 showcased the D series crawler, which didn't appear until 0.21. The Roamer facelift, which was a big part of 0.20, was completely unseen until release day.

true, but I just really think if a map was coming this update, they wouldn't tease a map for a future update
it just doesn't make sense imo

Not that it won't take too long I would imagine as all that is required is changing the terrain texture.

The point of posting it in the Teaser Tuesday is to get more of the community aware of a large change on one of the most popular maps and to gather feedback in the concept stage, regardless of which update it will be releasing in.

I know, but wouldn't you want to get feedback on the map/remaster being released sooner?
I already said this doesn't make sense to me

No, you wouldn't. Getting advice at the concept stage is better than getting advice halfway through- you don't have to undo any of your work.
