all teasers with new gambler content were only on the remaster cars and the new minivan I find it strange.
"As the end draws near of our old and aged friend Gavril Barstow. It gazes upon the horizon to capture one last view of the mighty, dusty, rugged terrain of the Utah." (you might know what happened later)
I was thinking, they just started to hold the modding contest. I don't know if developers will consider the situation that mod is broken by update. The end time of the competition is June 30th, 2023. Developers may give us some time to experience these mods. Imagine that you are a BeamNG player who is very concerned about community mods. The competition has just ended, and you start to try mods made by these contestants one by one. After only two weeks, the game is updated, your mods are broken, and the modder will not be very happy. I think developers may delay the update for a few days, such as late July to mid-August.
doubt thats gonna happen. devs here don't have the luxury of waiting, once the update is ready, it gets tested and deployed to the public branch (same process as every other update; QA Latest > QA Stable > Content Creator > Public) The mods that usually breaks are like beammp, my benchmark (scripts, flowgraphs), or vehicles that are using older vanilla meshes/texture that has been remastered/remade, and the likes of that.
Maybe they have already thought of our idea, hahaha. In the next update, developers may try to avoid breaking mods.
What's weird about that? They aren't going to put all that work into a car that still needs a major remaster because they'd just have to redo it all anyway when it's time to remaster it. Imagine if they made the 6 wheeled Bolide before it got remastered, they'd have to scrap all that work and start from scratch after the remaster.
i can't help but ask: how deep into development is the minivan now? i know its been a few good weeks since we first saw its jbeam, to its reveal on the gambler 500, but i wonder at what stage it would be in the following weeks
Every other Gambler config is based on completed cars, so I guess the minivan is mostly finished. Why? This way the gambler team has an easier job, imo they have just waited for it to be finished and worked the same way as on other cars
I wouldn't be surprised if, as some people suggest, they're planning on dropping the update on the day of the IRL gambler 500 event. If so, they would want to ensure that they have all the content ready by that point, so they've likely played it safe with the scope of the features and content for 0.29. if that's the case, they could either be starting early on 0.30's content and features, or spending the extra time to slip in a bunch of small quality fixes.
Your comment reminds me of a kind of colour I really want to see in BeamNG: chameleon/chromaflair/shifter colours, like the "Reflex Purple" and "Reflex Spice" colours of TVRs! Would be very interesting to see how they are implemented in the new PBR system!
We kinda have thoses in the game --- Post updated --- Hey qa_stable got updated! last time, we got creator program 1-3 days after!
