By the time this releases we will probably be up to 4 superbuilds that fit the bill for that type of racing (D-Series prerunner; Sawzall Scintilla, Class 5 Piccobuggy; and the teaser tuesday truck).

it wouldn't make sense to update the k-series separatly form the 800 they basically share a lot of parts from suspension to engine and gearbox

Hey didn't you make those lists of all the possible stuff that could be in the update? If so, loved em. Would totally be down to see another one.

There was a couple of us that use to do those. I think @CaptainZoll and @crazikyle use to as well? IMO it's less useful now than it use to be since they team has really tightened up how they do teasers. Vehicle content is generally teased at most 2 updates out and other additions are generally a surprise. But looking at what we "know" is coming up and for the sake of having everything organized in one place...

For the color coding I went with green for stuff that we can be reasonably certain of in the next update; orange for near future items and potentially next update; and red for things that were confirmed to not be coming in the near future whatsoever and stuff in development limbo

    Updated 2022/12/08

Release date: December 2022. A holiday season update is standard practice and lines up with their intention of a 3 month update cycle. 2017 was the only year without an update between December 15th and 21st, and 2019 and 2021 both had 2-part updates with the first part in early December.

For those wondering, 2017 had a US Thanksgiving Update instead of a December update. So every year we've had a holiday update of some description

Update: The steam creator branch was updated, which means the update theoretically will be W/E 2022/12/17.

    Vehicle content:
    • Teaser Tuesday Trophy Truck: Teaser Tuesday Trophy Truck. Teased on 2022/10/12, this seems to be a dark render of a tube frame off road racer of some description. There is too much unknown to really speculate about this right now. It could be completely custom or related to a new pickup truck of any description.
      • See here for brighter image courtesy of @FenderBenderTV
      • Ferretank did mention here that the prerunner was supposed to be more of a home built prerunner and left the idea of a true trophy truck open, while also expressing interest in a stadium truck. Both of those options would require a ground up tube frame platform with a pickup truck body like we see in the teaser. Being that this is a darker teaser like we saw with the initial FCV and Bastion teasers I suspect this is further out, perhaps 0.28 content.
      • There has been a lot of speculation about the Bastion's engines being in the common folder for some reason. Do they have a vehicle in the pipeline, such as this truck, which will borrow these engines? I personally suspect this will be powered by the Bastion's V8 just to have some variety from all the modern Gavril V8 swaps we already have.
      • Update 2022/11/22: This teaser was posted of it running down a straight desert road. The trucks looks finished, so I'm changing this from orange to green. It's interesting that they didn't post audio. Could that be hiding a new V8 sound, or does this use a V6 like some IRL Baja trophy trucks?
      • @tobias95ng posted a screenshot of the underside of the truck. We can clearly see a fair amount of the mechanical bits of the truck here.
      • I have to mention the discussion about an accompanying street truck. My personal opinion is that we do need a modern full sized pickup and are honestly over due for it. It would fill multiple empty niches, pair well with existing content, add to Bruckell's much needed lore/lineup, be useful for career mode, be fairly unique, and is highly requested content. Ever since we got the Bastion I've been thinking the next vehicle will be a modern Bruckell truck and have been surprised to not see on yet. A lot of people seem to think this trophy truck's existence points to a street truck coming with it. Personally I don't see why a tube frame racer with generic fiberglass shell would necessitate a street truck. Yes they sometimes use shells that are "related" to a street truck in the same way a NASCAR cup car does, but that's pretty much the only relation. Other's point to the superbuilds based on street platforms as evidence that this ground up tube frame platform will be related to a street platform, which I also don't agree with. This is our first ground up tube frame platform, we don't have any precedent to look to. While I personally do not see anything here as hard evidence of one currently in development, it seems that a lot of the community (including nearly the entire subreddit) is entirely convinced that one will be in 0.27 so I have to mention it here.
    • Euro Autobello Utility Van: This... Thing... Was posted on 2022/11/01. Once again it's a render with dark shadows making it difficult to see anything and suggesting this is still early development; perhaps 0.28 content. From the little we can see it looks a lot like a 1960's-1980's Euro utility van; like a Unimog/Volvo C306/Pinzgauer/Mercedes T2. t's the first heavyweight we've had in a long time, potentially the first COE, the first non-American heavyweight (Sorry Pigeon) and the first proper off road cargo-hauler. There's a lot of potential content for this including a lot of off road possibilities. Could we see a trial truck/Dakar truck to go with all the other off road content we have and have seen?
    • Mystery Tube Frame Car/Buggy: Hiding in the background of the 2022/11/17 map teaser. It's a tube frame car/truggy thing with new seats. Doesn't look like the Piccobuggy, ETK Update: Autobello truck, or trophy truck. Being that this is in the background of another teaser and behind a gas station sign it's impossible to tell much anything from it, including if it looks "done" enough for this update's release. Between all these off road vehicles and content we already have it seems like the team is trying to cross off the bigger classes in Baja/Dakar races. Could this be a Dakar T1 car? In some ways it looks like the trophy truck and in some ways it doesn't, could this simply be the truck or a derivative of it? The different lights and repositioned fire extinguishers suggest this will not have a pickup truck shell.
      • @Acrain7 has a zoomed in picture of the buggy with a quick comparison to the Piccobuggy and trophy truck.
      • It does look like it will get a car shell and it is not front engined leading @CaptainZoll to the conclusion that it is an SBR derivative.
      • Update 2022/11/29: Still no official word or teasers on this, but I wanted to include some of the below recent community speculation. This thing is still a mystery, but since it shares at least a fair amount with existing or upcoming vehicles I am changing this from orange to green.
      • Update 2022/12/08: New map teaser with a crawler. Leeloo asked the community what we would like to see in the teaser, selected a comment about the T-Rex buggy, then released this teaser. While most of the chassis does look the same, this has a solid front axle instead of IFS and generally seems to be sitting lower.
        • I believe that this crawler, the T-Rex buggy, and the trophy truck will be "one" vehicle in the game files, likely with other configurations we haven't seen yet. They are all roughly the same size, potentially use the same engine, and borrow parts from the existing caged frame crawler super builds (one of which is already considered modular).
      • All of this being said... Does anyone know what this thing actually is?
    • Score Class 5 Autobello Piccobuggy: See here for the model and here for it in game. Not officially shown and leaked via game files in the initial 0.26 release. Being that it is partially in game I suspect we will see an official teaser soon and release for 0.27
      • Update 11/08/22: Official teaser. This leaves a fair bit to speculate about, a dedicated tube frame would be a first for the game (tied with the trophy truck) and leaves a few possibilities (I assume we will at least see a tarmac track weapon).
      • Engine options are currently unknown but it looks like it may use the SBR's F4, which makes sense looking at IRL counterparts such as the Grabowski Class 5 Subaru.
      • As far as body options go: There is a modern fiberglass shell in the files, which leaves the question of what was it we saw with the 0.26 leaks? Was it a test bed using the Piccolina unibody, are we getting a version of this which uses a front and rear tube sub-frame on the Piccolina's unibody (not unlike both Civetta's superbuilds which use unique subframes bolted to the main unibody), will it have the option for a fiberglass Piccolina shell or the modern buggy shell on a dedicated tube frame platform? Regardless, it certainly looks like it's far enough in development that we can expect it in 0.27
    • FPU XTV: Teased on 2022/11/24. It's an XTV similar to the Beaver mod, resembling the IRL Argo Frontier. We may see 6x6 or 8x8 or both. We have no idea how far this thing is in development, but it's probably relatively simple and the research was already done on the mod (IIRC the mod maker is a staff member), so maybe we'll see it in 0.27.
    • Side by Side: Concept art teaser from 2022/12/06. Leeloo specified this is not a vehicle teaser. Which is really weird, concept art with a vehicle not in game and specifically not intended to be the teaser.
    • ETK K-Series Remaster: A mild widebody was teased on Jul 12th but not seen in 0.26. The K-Series, while better quality than many not-yet-remastered cars in game, is possibly the worst for quantity of content and at least some work on remastering her will facilitate any work on her cousin the 800-Series, which is in the same boat in terms on needing a remaster. Perhaps we will see both get remastered in 0.27.
      • Update 2022/11/29: Still no word on this since pre-0.26. All the teasers we've seen for 0.27 are off road content, but it's been a long time since we've had anything teased further than update-after-next... Really not sure if this should be green or orange. It would be really weird to have this thing teased so far ahead of release, but it looks like that might be the case.
    • SBR remaster: While there's no proper sign of a remaster coming up, @McBeamer94 and @dart have been going back and forth about some new intercoolers for the SBR's engine that are in the files. In order to actually use these the SBR's body would need some changes, which suggests this is possibly next on the list of upcoming remasters. Alternatively, this could be intended only for swapping it into a different vehicle, but that seems like a waste of perfectly good intercoolers to me. Post #1, post #2, Post #3
    • Moonhawk remaster: Again, no proper sign of a remaster but many speculate that her remaster is next due to the recent addition of a fascia for the facelift. While it is odd that the team added this randomly, the Moonhawk is one of the few cars that has been getting infrequent content attention outside of remasters.
    • Other remasters: The following vehicles have yet to be fully remastered and have not been mentioned above: Burnside '53 Special, ETK I-Series, Gavril Barstow, Gavril Grand Marshall (it was remastered but not to the same scope that current remasters cover), Gavril T-Series, Hirochi Sunburst, Ibishu 200BX, Ibishu Hopper, Ibishu Miramar, Ibishu Pessima mod.1988, Wentward DT40L
    Map content:
    • New Map: [Update: Johnson Valley] The map team has been pretty much silent now that the map remasters are apparently done (sorry Cliff map) and we really haven't heard anything since Italy released in December 2018. December 2022 marks 4 years without a proper new map and certainly overdue for something. Back in May TDev did a Q&A where he mentioned a lot of his hopes for the near future game. This included mention of an upcoming "sunny and dry" map currently in the works but it "still has a ways to go".
      • Update 2022/11/15: T-Rex gas station teaser. Concept art for a gas station from a new brand on an arid map. Looks like this is what TDev was taking about. We can't know how much of the concept art is just art versus what will actually be part of the map, which makes speculation difficult. Between TDev's comments from the Q&A, the generally arid look of the map, the off road racing content we've been seeing, and the fact that this was teased on the first day of the Baja 1000 it seems safe to say this is Mexico or south west USA. The English writing and gas prices on the teaser suggest this is in the USA. Or maybe this is getting added to an existing map and has nothing to do with the new map at all...
      • Update 2022/11/17: In game screenshot of the gas station, with a surprise. See "vehicle content" section of this post for talk about that. The gas prices and use of English language remain, which mean this is almost certainly southwest USA. While having a third map in this area is a disappointment to some, it should solve at least some of the problems many have with WCUSA and it does make sense to have a lot of map content in a geographically close area for career mode.
      • Update 2022/11/22: This teaser was posted of the trophy truck running down a straight desert road. That straight road doesn't look like anything from an existing map, and the soil color matches that from the last teaser. It's worth noting the background mountains and radio tower are reminiscent of WCUSA
      • Update 2022/11/29: The Autobello Van Teaser seems to be taken on a new map. Once again we see the same arid environment, soil color, mountainous background, etc... The ground is much more sandy than the other teasers though, which usually show semi-rocky terrain. With so many teasers featuring the new map I'm changing this from orange to green.
      • I have some speculation on locations here
      • Update 2022/12/06: Concept art teaser. Honestly this one perplexes me. We are back to concept art after getting a few in game screenshots, which I don't think we've ever had before. I'm tempted to put this back to orange now. We see the same general terrain features as we have been: relatively flat valley with mountains in the background. I still want to say Johnson Valley will be the main inspiration here. Between TDev's comments in the Q&A (See "Misc" section), this artwork, and the type of map (note that some sections are rocky and some are sandy, and desert racing in general requires a lot of space), I have a feeling that this is going to be a physically large one. At least as large as Italy, maybe larger. That's just personal speculation though.
      • Update 2022/12/08: New map teaser with a crawler. Leeloo asked the community what we would like to see in the teaser, selected a comment about the T-Rex buggy, then released this teaser. There's a lot to discuss here. It's a massive map with a fair variety of terrain, and named "Johnson Valley". @coolcarguy#1 pointed out some signs of civilization in the background, which I personally suspect is some kind of base camp for racing events.
    • Rocks teased on 2022/11/10. Are these generic props? Are they going to be part of the new mystery map? With all the off road content we've gotten and the mention of it being dry, it being rocky would make sense. Note the human scale reference, these things are big. Could these be part of a dynamic prop update? Currently there are very few dynamic props in free roam maps.
    • Update: See here for @BowlerHatJack's observations suggesting an Automation Test Track remaster
    Physics & such:
    Gameplay:
    • Walking mode; Triggers; Career Mode Sneak Peak; AI/Traffic updates; Mission System; Steam Achievements; and UI changes have all been WIP in recent updates and this will most likely continue for the foreseeable future
    Everything else:
To all: Please respond with suggestions for anything I missed, better sources, etc...

Yeah, there are so many of them these days that they get classified in sizes just like the cars on which they're based: Subcompacts (like the VW T-Cross, which is very popular in Europe), Compacts (like the Audi Q3), Midsize (like the Subaru Forester and BMW X3) etc. Yep, everyday we learn something new! ;)
    --- Post updated ---
That's real nice, but why does it still have a sorta-Pick-Up body to cover the roll cage? Maybe the "Gladiator" will be a 2-door, like the Jeep Commanche? Who knows...

A few more notes of mine about the new Pick-Up.

    Bed
I'd really like to see the new Pick-Up feature an optional multifunctional split tailgate, with its own special triggers mounted in various spots of the tailgate panel(s). This would certainly attract the attention of many of us - me included, because I never say "no" to weird little stuff like that! But the devs must make sure the tailgates don't clip through the bed cover to open and close, because that's exactly the case in the D-Series right now.
Also, since the game started getting openable panels, I believe another option could appear for the new truck and that's the bed with openable side storage/cooler boxes above the rear wheel arches, making the bed space have no arch intrusion from the inside.
edit: the bed cover can also be openable.

    Chassis & Bumpers
I'd also love to see the option of rear-exiting tailpipes with a rear bumper having small arched areas specifically designed for housing the tailpipes (not like in the D-Series, where the Sport Muffler ends up below the rear bumper, which is a nice design on its own). This would make the Pick-Up look more like a car, especially the more pedestrian versions.
But for this, the devs must make sure the tow hitch crossmember doesn't interfere with (a.k.a. clip through) this tailpipe placement because this is yet another problem of the D-Series, in which the Single Rectangular and Double Circular Tailpipes clip through the rear tow hitch crossmember.

    Suspension
Air suspension would be great for load levelling and automatic height adjustment on highway cruising speeds. I also think the new Pick-Up would be better off with a multilink-mounted coilover/sway bar live rear axle than with the traditional leaf springs. Especially the sportier and more extreme-performing versions will have much better control and much higher rear-end traction too.

I doubt there is a new pickup being made, trophy trucks nowadays do not use production frames and only bear skin-deep resemblance to production models if any

If there is, I hope it's a smaller truck like a Hilux, but more likely this is a purpose-built offroad toy

The thing I see is, as others have mentioned, there's not much point in a Trophy truck when we've already got a prerunner, unless that trophy truck is to be the ultimate version of another vehicle.
I'd say it went something like "let's make a modern muscle sedan and pickup both under bruckell, so they share some parts"
then Jared wanted to do a "super build" of it, and decided on a trophy truck.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the production model of the truck hasnt been modelled yet; since a trophy truck doesn't actually share any body panels or chassis parts with a real truck, jared could have started modelling this body as soon as their design sketches were finalised.

another thing to consider is the fact that this tube frame could reasonably be adapted into a NASCAR truck, you'd need new front and rear frame sections, suspension, and different front/rear bodypanels, but the centre section and engine bay could remain basically unchanged between the two.
