Mm, that’s a funky lil’ boy! You know, I feel like it’s good enough, I mean it’s obscured by a massive overpowered lightbulb, so not much to do there
I could indeed have worded that better. While a fifth wheel hitch can be installed without removing the bed, something meant for hauling a serious load would generally have a special upfit or a just the fifth wheel instead of messing around with keeping the bed. With so many people seeing a gooseneck trailer and making a connection to a T-Series remaster I was more focused on pointing out that the rig in the teaser isn't set up for loads *that* big.
There's nothing new on the gooseneck correct? It's looks like it's just the Trophy Truck bit I don't know if there's something in front. I guess MuYe and others were right about a construction/heavy duty vehicle themed update.
so i noticed a few things in this teaser, 1. this is located at the top of utah near the dealerships and broken bridge, 2. that gooseneck trailer is really detailed and i cant wait to do junk yard roleplay! 3. i dont think anybody has said this yet but it seems to me, that Polaris or honda buggy is actually a race config due to the fact it has race wheels and not offroad or mud wheels/tires, also if you zoom into what looks like the back of it and try not to get blinded by the sun, it has a wing that looks like the hirochi wings in my opinion, and the decals on the side remind me of the hirochi race liveries with all the sponsors, so who knows maybe this will be a hirochi after all,
I looked close and there does appear to he something in front. It looks like a small go kart or maybe the ATV that was teased previously.
'Tis the time of the season: Color coding: Green means we can be reasonably certain of it in the next update Orange means we can expect it in near future and potentially the next update Red means it's either confirmed to not be coming in the near future whatsoever or in development limbo Past teaser logs for reference: 0.29 0.28 0.27 Updated 2023/08/22, new items in bold Release date: 0.29 was early July, at a 3 month update cycle we'll be looking at early October. Vehicle content: SxS Hirochi Aurata: Teaser of a WIP model on 2023/08/08. Update speculation thread discussion starts here. Accompanying Instagram video can be found here. This appears to be a side by side like the one in the Johnson Valley Map concept art, and the Instagram video has some other thing on the screen that Jared pointed out quick. It might not be a SxS but it definitely is something along the lines of a performance off road utility vehicle 2023-08-22 Teaser Tuesday post. Update speculation thread discussion starts here. There's a bit to unpack here, certainly more than initially meets the eye. The most obvious new item is that gooseneck trailer for the D-Series. It's been ages since we've gotten any attention to trailers, and gooseneck trailers opens up an entire new range of possibilities. @Pr9tkin played with the lighting a bit to get a better look at what is actually on the trailer and behold: a side by side. To me this is most reminiscent of a Can Am Maverick, the closest competitor to that is the Polaris RZR and Honda Talon. Unfortunately this is a fairly small niche IRL so there isn't much more to look at, but it's also an open niche that gives the devs a lot of room for creativity while still keeping it realistic As far as brand goes, we already have a fair number of options without resorting to a new company. SP specializes in low production race truck builds so I don't see them getting into this segment. This would fit FPU very nicely, and the lore behind them is that they nearly went bankrupt after the Wydra... Key word, "nearly". Then there's Hirochi. Hirochi doesn't really have any lore but they seem to take after Japanese industry/technology company than a dedicated automotive firm, so a side by side could certainly be in their wheelhouse. As far as configs... The IRL counterparts generally have a surprising amount of factory configs, but I think factory offerings can be distilled into just a couple of options. Drivetrain will probably be a 2 or 3 cylinder, somewhere around 1 liter displacement, with either a CVT or dual clutch. Optional turbo for high trim levels and certainly something massively overpowered for race configs. Realistically this should be offered in 2 and 4 door options, but the team doesn't always go for LWB options with their vehicles so we have to wait and see for that. Probably some options for body work but nothing crazy (lightweight roof, half vs quarter doors, etc...), potentially an optional snorkel and once we get ropables a winch... As far as non-factory configs go, it'll probably be pretty standard. Custom configs, race configs, maybe an emergency rescue config. I'm sure we'll see the team do something creative/silly with the platform. A military config isn't off of the table; militaries IRL do use side x sides and we have a few military configs in game now. 2023-09-19 Teaser Tuesday post. This confirms that our little critter is a Hirochi and has a nifty modern sat-nav center console... Which shows some interesting information in itself... See the map content section for more information SBR remaster: While there's no proper sign of a remaster coming up, @McBeamer94 and @dart have been going back and forth about some new intercoolers for the SBR's engine that are in the files. In order to actually use these the SBR's body would need some changes, which suggests this is possibly next on the list of upcoming remasters. The SBR engine with intercoolers did make it into the Piccolina, I still think these will make it into the SBR properly someday. Post #1 Post #2 Post #3 Moonhawk remaster: Again, no proper sign of a remaster but many speculate that her remaster is next due to the fact that for whatever reason they have been drip-feeding content to the Moonhwak but not other vehicles. Grand Marshall remaster: It was remastered but not to the same scope that current remasters cover, so sooner or later the team should be returning to this one Update 2023-06-20: The GM did get some content in 0.29, but nothing to see as far as quality improvements. In fact it might be a bit worse now with that fake chain on the roof that behaves in a really wonky manner Gavril T-Series remaster: A lot of people have been suggesting this will be coming up as it got the hydraulic updates and was omitted from the 0.28 openable door improvements. While the new hydraulics is probably just a case of new content with limited applications currently, the lack of openable doors is strange. @bussin.buses pointed out that it didn't get a working shifter along with not getting opening doors Other remasters: The following vehicles have yet to be fully remastered and have not been mentioned above: Burnside '53 Special, ETK I-Series, Gavril Barstow, Hirochi Sunburst, Ibishu 200BX, Ibishu Hopper, Ibishu Miramar, Ibishu Pessima mod.1988, Wentward DT40L See this post for some speculation from @CaptainZoll discussing potential heavy equipment additions. Another one here. The idea of a heavy equipment update has been picking up steam in the community and a lot of people seem convinced we will be getting one soon. Also by @CaptainZoll: A post summarizing the top vehicle requests on the vehicle suggestion thread. This list combined with a bit of speculation as to under represented brands/niches and what would be useful for gameplay and we could get a decent idea of the more likely upcoming vehicles. Map content: 2023-09-19 Teaser Tuesday post. The sat nav in the Hirochi SxS shows what appears to be a populated WCUSA island, and there's a refinery in the background. WCUSA expansion? The community has wanted a WCUSA expansion since the map's release but the team said they can't expand the build limits. WCUSA has received little additions here and there, and the highway system is vast but doesn't have many destinations.... What else could be in store for it? Physics & such: Ropeables: TDev mentioned that ropes/ties are WIP and winches are on his short term wish list. Not only would that be important for cargo and off road gameplay, but it would also allow for more types of vehicles (Cranes, wreckers, hook & chain tow trucks, etc....). @LucasBE has a post discussing some bits related to ropeables See this post for some speculation from @CaptainZoll with a pic of a winch already modelled for the Wydra Airbags: Airbags were tested but declared not currently feasible Improved Aerodynamics: TDev was going to come back to this question during his Q&A but never did TDev mentioned in a post-0.29 Q&A that there are no updates here, it's still on their to-do list but other items take priority. Tire Thermals; Mud/Scratches: Things in these directions will be coming soon. From the post-0.29 Q&A TDev did: Tire thermals remain WIP with no ETA From the aforementioned Q&A: Mud/dirt/scratches and car alarms are under consideration but they cannot make any promises at this time ABS Updates: Vehicle electronics are one of those things that are pretty much always WIP and a potential to see in an update; but on 2022/10/21 Diamondback posted some big ABS improvements with the note that he is working on an overall ABS overhaul. Additional post here Shift logic: On 2023/04/10 Diamondback showed off concept for shift logic updates. Shoutout to @CaptainZoll for reminding me to put this here Update 2023/05/28: Another related post on this Ignition System: From the post 0.29 Q&A: Fixes to this system are coming in 0.30 Gameplay: Walking mode; Triggers; Career Mode Sneak Peak; AI/Traffic updates; Mission System; Steam Achievements; and UI changes have all been WIP in recent updates and this will most likely continue for the foreseeable future @LucasBE has a post discussing some bits related to career mode and the like Everything Else: Misc: TDev's long term wish list includes deformable terrain, "huge" maps, and more. He hopes that they will finally get on that 3 month update cycle they've been mentioning but unable to stick to. Torquescript: Ongoing effort to remove TorqueScript We did see some progress towards this in 0.27 Driver Model: Feasibility of a driver model was being investigated Pedestrians: Same for pedestrians, which were deemed not currently feasible but still on the long term wish list. Additional post on this topic Sounds: Expect a post from TDK about what they have been working on at some point. Perhaps related to audio ray tracing, which will potentially improve cabin noises and allow for some other cool stuff. Additional post here. Update: See this comment from @FFIVGUY. Graphics: From the post 0.29 Q&A: Finishing Vulcan implementation is a priority Another post from the above Q&A on graphics Unused engine sounds: 4 cylinder that kinda sounds like a rotary/wankel from @dart and i3, i6 diesel, and V8 courtesy of @LucasBE Update: 0.27 did use the new V8 sound, the others remain unused Mystery features: The 0.29 devblog ended with "Meanwhile, the team continues pushing the pedal to the metal behind the scenes to ensure that the next update includes several major improvements and new features.". No sign of what this is yet. TDev mentioned we will get another "Over the Horizon" post some day.
am i the only one disappointed that we are getting more offroad vehicles? i only drove the offroad stuff a couple times it also feels like there is more important things to be added like a modern suv or pickup the game is really missing
it would be obvious that the devs are playing into their strengths, plus you somewhat have the SUV filled out with modded vehicles. Personally do I use the offroad vehicles often? Not really. Am I still excited for any new update with them? Absolutely, because they show the improvements the game is getting overall.
yea I can only think that they are probably researching on a ideal rework that will suit it, so they probably want to offload that effort from T-series to just researching a better truck, rather than dump effort for a bigger mess which is understandable. so until then, we won't see much news. Also the T-series never gotten a trailer video like every other vehicles
