As someone with around 300 mods installed, and a beefy enough gaming laptop to run them, I have stumbled upon a fair share of both high and low quality mods for this game. I decided to share some of the former in hopes of raising awareness to their existance, and letting other players try something new. This list was inspired by Lumius' IRL cars mod list and I have recieved permission from them to use that post as inspiration (page 2, comments 34, 35, 36). A few things to note, however: NOTE 1: Everything in this list is based off of my opinions, and others' thoughts may differ. I have additionally not tried everything yet, so I may be off on some things. NOTE 2: Every mod in this list is either free or partially free (e.g. free demo version with paid full version), but the main list will not feature fully-paid mods (they can appear in an additional list, however) or third-party non-repo mods (they're all Scintilla meshslaps anyway, and are probably viruses). NOTE 3: You are free to suggest any mods that you think would fit in this list, I will check them out when I have the time. Conversely, if your mod(s) is/are featured here and you want me to remove it/them, please tell me and I will do as soon as I possibly can. One more thing, my personal definitions/criteria of a "high-quality mod" in the context of this list. These are rather broad and I will let many things slide if I feel like it: 1. (general) The detail and content of the mod should approach, match, or even exceed dev quality. 2a. (vehicles) The vehicle should fit into the game's existing lore (e.g. new model for an existing make) or add onto it (e.g. new brand entirely that fits with the game's existing lore). 2b. (vehicles) Real life vehicle replicas that are at or near the level of vanilla cars and other mods in this list. 3. (maps) The map is detailed and/or diverse enough to provide entertainment for a decent amount of time (time trials and other scenarios are not required though) With that out of the way, let's get onto the main list. VEHICLES: (note: IRl and non-IRL cars will be seperated at a later date) AW Astro by Nekkit - Fun little car inspired by the VW Golf. Config lineup very similar to vanilla cars. Blackpool Superlite by TrackpadUser - A lightweight cornering machine inspired by the Caterham Seven. Config lineup similar to vanilla cars. Recently updated and fits very well with the game's existing content. Capsule by CYCJoseph - A very detailed retro-futuristic bus with lots of features and customization. Cherrier Tango by Baconzez - Lore-adapted Renault Twingo. ETK 900-Series by Vibestation 5 - A luxury sedan/wagon building onto ETK's existing lineup, with both luxurious and sporty trims. Maluch Remastered by AdamPLGames - An extremely thorough and detailed replica of this iconic Eastern European car with, like, one hundred configs provided. Ford Crown Victoria by MaxieTheFoxxie - Detailed replica of the signature US police and taxi vehicle. GD808 JAS Hypercar by Eduard Gray - Monstrous V16-powered speed-machine not for the faint of heart. Limited customization but high performance. Additional paid version available. Hirochi CCF by Theo Wilkinson - A lightweight roadster inspired by the fourth (ND) generation Mazda MX-5 "Miata", with extremely high quality. Hirochi Mistral by Kajzer - A fun 90's hatchback to whip around. Ibishu Mirena by Angry_Bird - An initially unassuming luxury sedan that is quite the sleeper. The repository version has probably the best-sounding V8 engine I've ever heard in a video game. Subaru Impreza by Hachi866 - A very detailed replica of this iconic rally machine, currently undergoing a total revamp. TAZ Pack by RyanCookie - Two Lada-inspired Soviet cars that blend perfectly into the game, with lots of configs and customizability. MAPS American Road by primo3001 - Larger than most maps, it's a bit dated but offers lots of opportunities, from high-speed highway runs, to cruises, to offroading. Argentinean Roads by marleystruli - Diverse map, also good for testing suspension due to the bumpy roads. Autobahn 57k by Grille - The essential highway map. It's not as detailed as some others on this list, but it's enough for me and the detail isn't the selling point either. It feels very nice to drive on, and you'll be going nyoom in no time. Barbent's Homerange by Barbent Servo GT - A large map with an equally large amount of things to do. It's a little rough around the edges but it's in an alpha state and still very detailed. Beam Mountains by Driv3r1142 - Twisty roads and steep drops are the main characteristics of this map, it's good for both driving and crashing. Caldera Bay by Spencer Johnson - Probable contender for my favourite modded map of all time. It has a looped highway, sweet mountain roads, three amazing race tracks, and even LORE!!! Cliff Roads by Rewzu - A modified version of the vanilla Cliff map, adding roads (obviously) and towns. A well-needed expansion for those who share my opinion that the map really needed something more. ETK Center Plus by Bifdro - A much-needed expansion for the vanilla ETK Driver Experience Center map. It has some new roads and an "after the storm" aesthetic. European Coast by Cabrakan - A large C-shaped island with a long main road. It can get a bit monotonous sometimes but there is some stuff to explore and the quality is top-notch. Hungarian Roads by Bifdro - Captures the authentic Eastern European feeling nicely, but is versatile enough to be used for many things. Insane Rally by Insanegaz - Despite its name, it is suitable for other things too. Lake Farsoe by Spencer Johnson - A nice loop road around the lake, also going through the city. Some small branching off roads lead across steep mountains to the outer area. Textures are currently missing in some places, but I still feel this map deserves to be here because it is still very good regardless. Mount Coot-tha by B25Mitch - A winding mountain road loop in the land down under, fun for testing out handling. River Highway by unyxium - A large and diverse map great for going fast or cruising. Similar to American Roads above, in fact. Somerset, UK by el_ferrito - Winding British countryside roads, it sometimes gives me vibes similar to the vanilla maps in fact. Texas, USA by themanhacc - Quite possibly the most vanilla-feeling map out of everything here. Excellent detail overall. Xero Parklands by Track Broseff - Detailed map with lots of things to do, also comes with lots of car configs to use. OTHERS (UI elements and miscellaneous mods, fully paid mods, upcoming mods, mods I have been keeping an eye on but have not tried yet) Autobello Aria by Kajzer - A recent release that seems to have been gaining attention very quickly. I have not been able to try it yet. Brake Glow by Inn0centJok3r - Makes your brake disc burning hot under hard braking, making the game look better and your car even more awesome. Gavril Vertex by Inn0centJok3r - One of the most well-known vehicle mods in the game due to its insane customizability. Surprisingly I've never even touched this one, but hopefully I'll have the time to do so eventually. Hirochi Talent by Docroswagge - A versatile kei truck, looks very friend shaped to me. As usual, it's here because I haven't tried it yet. Sapphire GT7 by Inn0centJok3r - Extremely detailed Saleen S7 replica currently in development and with a 2026 release planned. I've been closely watching this one for a while now, it's a game of patience for sure. Snowflake State: Highway by MegaKnight: An upcoming map set in the winter, and it looks to be very close to dev quality.
