It's time... Color coding: Green means we can be reasonably certain of it in the next update Orange means we can expect it in near future and potentially the next update Red means it's either confirmed to not be coming in the near future whatsoever or in development limbo Past teaser logs for reference: 0.35 0.34 0.33 0.32 0.31 0.30 0.29 0.28 0.27 Updated 2025/06/06, new items in bold. Release date: The summer update is usually late June/early July, but has been as early as mid-June and late as mid-August. Currently there is nothing pointing to an unusual release date, so for now I'm going with the most common which is the first half of July Vehicle content: Gavril MD Series Part 2: From the 0.33 dev blog: "More unique variants are planned for future updates". The configs we got were relatively basic by modern BeamNG standards, even missing appropriate upfits already in game on other contemporary Gavril trucks and missing many aftermarket options seen on those trucks, only having one engine option while in a niche that would normally have several, and missing some highly requested configs that would be perfect for this platform. I made a list here with what I think would be appropriate additions There is at least one reference to a school bus, I believe this post by @Top Tier Studios was the first to point this out The MD's D-Series bed has the D-Series wings in the files, but not accessible in game. Reference this post by @Covalence @GavrilMan2973 pointed out here that there is some reference to a tow truck in the MD's files. That's odd... The most appropriate type of tow truck for this platform would be a roll back, which we already have on the D and T/TC Series. We could see a wheel lift like the D-Series had in the files years ago but never got. Rotary trucks on medium duty platforms do exist but they are rare, but we do need one for the TC series with the not-a-Terminator config it has The May 27th teaser shows a Gavril MD dashboard and a windshield wiper but no sign of a hood, which you would expect to see on the MD as both versions have a long and flat hood. We also see a fan, which is stereotypical of American school busses. The lack of hood in sight points to either a very steep hood like a step-van/type B bus or a flat nose like a type D bus. AgentY made this post mentioning that there are more parts to come but not going into detail. Interestingly they mentioned the team did mock up some late model parts off of existing Gavril trucks but we won't be getting them in game... Curious to see what that would have looked like... Another post by AgentY stating there are no plans for additional axle variations... Which is a bummer IMO. While yes the medium duty trucks don't have as much variation as off highway and longhaul trucks, there still are options. Tandem axle contemporary Kodiaks/Topkicks/Bruins/Brigaders/Model E/Model H/Model J (Why did GM need to rename their medium duty conventionals so often???) are very common and the Ford trucks can be found with them as well. Even the Ram 6500 could be found as a tandem axle and they barely made any of those trucks at all. These trucks can be found with single rear axles + a drop axle which is unique and I have seen a couple with a tandem axle and a drop axle. That being said, the reason for this is the real life trucks all had class 8 versions but the MD doesn't. We would need an MD80 to justify this but I don't see a reason we couldn't get one. Considering multiple generations of the GM and Ford counterpart trucks did offer this (Even the generations without a class 8 had beefier versions of any MD config) I'd argue we should have it in game Ibishu Miramar Update: The May 29th Teaser shows a normal looking Miramar but from the interior of a LHD Miramar without fender mounted mirrors. This combined with the KPH gauge suggests an EUDM version. Considering how much more vehicle content is coming in this update and the lack of changes to the one we are looking at it seems this will be a relatively light refresh opposed to a full remaster with a lot of content. Hopefully this will get more content in the future since the platform could be used for a lot of interesting things '53 Special Remaster: The June 5th teaser shows a driveby of a coupe Burnside Special with a unique grill and an absolutely beautiful patina skin. The grill heavily resembles the contemporary DeSoto @Josh94 posted a few good screenshots of the new Burnside here I'll make the same note I did about the Miramar... There's a healthy amount of content this could get, but with 2 other vehicles getting major attention I don't think we will see a crazy amount of content additions unless this is a multi part remaster. For those about to make the comparison to 0.24/0.27, remember the Holiday updates are generally the biggest of the year (And the 0.24 remasters weren't as big as many other remasters as far as new content anyway) Grand Marshall remaster: It was remastered but not to the same scope that current remasters cover, so sooner or later the team should be returning to this one Other remasters: The following vehicles have yet to be fully remastered and have not been mentioned above: ETK I-Series, Gavril Barstow, Bruckell Moonhawk, Ibishu Hopper, Ibishu Pessima mod.1988, Wentward DT40L Map content: Research: There has been talk of the devs doing some research on stuff for improved map development Update: @Bauer33333 responded with a source for this Physics & such: Spike Strip: January 15th's Teaser Tuesday showed off an experimental spike strip, with the note that it may not be released at all, let alone on any timeline Gameplay: Rally game mode:New to the last update, general improvements in each update are expected Career mode: Check out the dedicated thread for discussing the WIP career mode and look at some of the posts from staff members to get a better idea of what the team has been thinking for career mode In previous versions of this post I included a large spoiler tab with a list of comments by Krallopian about the future of career mode. However, this post on February 27th indicates a potentially significant shift in the direction career mode is taking so I have removed this section until more is known. It seems that the new vision for career is narrower but deeper, and includes improved support for integration of community additions. This seems to be potentially a more traditional game career mode than what we have seen to this point. Supposedly there will be a sneak peak of this in 0.35 so we will have to wait and see what that brings
I don't think we're getting a straight-eight for the Burnside (or in any car any time soon) - getting engine sounds for that would be more difficult than for a V8. That's likely why the Nine got a V8 instead of a straight-eight (and why the Wydra got an inline-three, instead of a V-twin or an inline-twin). And yes, for the DOHC fours, the Miramar's only got two side-draft carbs (while the OHV fours have a single-barrel carb). It (and the Nine) are the only vehicles to have a ~2-litre four-cylinder engine and not have a turbocharger or supercharger for them as an option. (The Hopper's engine's a bit too large to be counted as "around two litres", and the same story goes for the Pigeon/Wigeon's inline-four, which is only 1.3L.) Whereas I could understand the Nine's 2.2L four not having much in the way of parts (so that the V8s can have more), and I get that 150 hp is pushing the limits of the Pigeon/Wigeon already, I don't see why the Miramar can't at least get a turbo for its DOHC fours. (I don't expect anything new for the OHV fours, but I'd still be happy if they did get something.) I think the reason why we're probably not getting tandem axles for the MD-Series is that the T-Series exists - although, the T-Series also has the ability to get single-axle versions on multiple frames, so that feels like a very weak argument to me. The MD-Series getting a tandem axle option would help differentiate it more from the H/D45s, while not stepping that much on the T-Series's toes, IMO. And it already uses so many parts from the T-Series, anyway - what's a few more? Very happy to keep watching this get smaller over the years.
I have a feeling you're right with this, which I would then respond with (A) there's nothing wrong with giving the player a choice in vehicle and (B) the T-Series being a proper class 8 will handle big loads far better than a medium duty based class 8. The MD is gimped in a few more ways here too, only getting the small versions of all its upfits compared to the real trucks. The box/flat bed are only offered in 18' on the MD compared to the more common 24'/26', it only has a mini tanker and log upfit when IRL counterparts could be seen with larger versions, and we only get a mason dump when the real trucks could be found with full sized dump beds.
Well, depending on the crankshaft design, who's to say you couldn't repurpose a V8 sound? If the videos aren't enough, there's also the case of the legacy V6 sound from 20 or so updates ago, which was used as the sound for the Hopper's I6.
Yeah, I agree with all that. And the MD-Series is far more common than the T-Series in the career-mode dealers, IME. I get encouraging people to rent trucks from Shuffleboard for trailer hauls, but I've not seen a single T-Series in the dealership menu more times than I can count, whereas there's usually at least one or two MD-Series every cycle. That disparity in rarity would sting a lot less if the MD-Series had tandem axles (or the T-Series was more common in the dealerships). Huh, I was not aware that straight-eights could sound so much like V8s. Which, considering they were willing to repurpose a V6 sound for the Hopper's L6, probably means the reason why a straight-eight hasn't been featured yet is because it's too long of an engine, compared to a V8? I could see that being the case with the Nine (which is a rather small vehicle and has to fit many body styles and the devs probably wanted a flathead V8 because the Ford flathead V8 is a milestone engine), but the Burnside would be able to fit a straight-eight with a wheelbase extension. It might not even need that, if the engine is small enough. The devs have been giving us more and more unique engine configurations since 0.15 (transverse V8, V10, L5, air-cooled F4 and L6, flathead L4 and V8, electrics, longitudinal FWD), so, I'm not sure why the straight-eight has been singled out as a "no" or a slim "maybe' in all that time.
The i8 would make sense for the Burnside as a few of the GM counterparts offered one. It wouldn't make sense for the Model 9 though, in that price range we'd only be looking at a straight 6. The most affordable i8 offered at the time I know of was the Chrysler Royal and the Cadillac LaSalle, both of which were still 2-3x the price of a Ford Model B
In the Gavril MD-Series Upfit Frame Jbeam files, I had made a discovery that they contain a slot for an Auxiliary Air Tank, albeit unused at the time. How do you think they would be utilized given the circumstances that they do make into the next update? Cheers!
Dodge was offering a straight-eight as early as 1930, so it's not without precedent for a cheaper car to come with a straight-eight in that era. (Granted, the '33 Dodge eight made about 20 more hp and was around a litre larger than the Bruckell/Ford flathead V8s, so it was a bit more upmarket, but not that much more.) Regardless, I highly doubt we'll be getting a straight-eight for the Nine at this point. Hopefully for air suspension, like on the T-Series? That would be quite nice to have, considering how bouncy the rear end of the MD-Series is (it doesn't even have shocks).
Wow, you went into great detail with your speculations! I liked it --- Post updated --- the fact that the Grand Marshal received a remaster, and because it was the first car to receive a remaster but it doesn't reach the level of the Covet, Bx, Sunburst, D Series and even the T Series, but in fact at any moment there could be a second remaster of it but it shouldn't be now. The MD Series is very likely to gain more parts like the T Series, they are trying to focus more on them to make it really similar to a mid-sized truck. The remasters of Burnside and Miramar, as well as Sunburst, are the most requested by the community. Both Burnside and Miramar are extremely outdated cars with no parts or anything special, only 8 and 9 configurations, it is very likely that there are two remasters the same in 0.24. I'm not going to talk about career mode, because I'm waiting for it to be complete so I can play it, but rally mode will be much more interesting in 0.36, just like it was in 0.35.
Don't even consider the Gavril Grand Marshall's "remaster" as a remaster! The update for the Marshall didn't seem to be a remaster and was more of a refresh. The Grand Marshall should just be remaked in the process.
To be fair, it was officially classified as a remaster (and it was the first remaster in the game). But yeah, it wasn't as thorough as it could've been.
It probably was considered a remaster years ago, but when you compare the Grand Marshall to other remasters, it makes the Grand Marshall look like a refresh.
The Wendover needs a bit more content / variety It’s a bit bland as of right now Yes there was the gambler config as of the 0.29 update, but when you look at it now 6 updates later, it just feels a bit too boring / content-less since there is no real huge difference / variety in the configs overall Imo definitely could receive some refreshed lights & interior, and perhaps a new body style? (Odds are real low, but the car has some potential for a 2 door sedan or a wagon body)
The Wendover was originally going to be a four-door sedan. However, it was remodelled into a two-door coupe because Gabester wanted the Wendover to be more different from the LeGran, and because there weren't any FWD coupes in the game yet. That likely means we won't be getting a sedan or wagon body style for the Wendover (since we already have those on the LeGran, which uses many of the same components). Speaking of the LeGran, I do hope that it gets the Wendover's 4.4L V8 at some point - with the LeGran being a couple hundred kilos lighter than the Wendover, that V8 ought to make it a real screamer.
in fact, you have your argument, but it was the first so it would clearly be quite normal for the car to have little configuration compared to other remasters, since it was the first Beamng vehicle to gain something that other cars would gain shortly after, but it is not quite a refresh as it was with the ETKs. The ETKs 800 and K only received a small review, slightly higher quality compared to other cars that had a remaster, had updated settings but had few settings added and including parts, the Grand Marshal itself had a remaster that is not superior to other cars and it is normal for some people to think that it was just a Refresh.
this is not speculation, but i hope, i PRAY we get new crossplane pushrod v8 sounds. all the last sound updates have been amazing, the i5, the t series diesel v8, the flathead in the nine, but oh my gosh the 423 gavril and everything that isn't a sohc 4.5 or 5.5 needs new sounds desperately. every bruckell moonhawk motor, every burnside, every 6.9 in the late model gavrils and the soliad v8s (though those might be dual cam). on top of that, the existing 4.5 grand marshall straight pipe sound needs to be ported to the other single cam v8s, having it on just one variant in just one car makes zero sense when multiple other vehicles have the same exact engine and exhaust options. i understand making good vehicle sounds out of nothing is pretty difficult, but the beamng team did a great job with the last bout of remaster sounds, so it's disappointing to hear the 5+ year old single cam whirr in the burnside teaser. then again, teasers don't always show final content, so maybe we are gonna get a new set of pushrod sounds... i also found mixing the new 4.5 exhaust sound with the direct injected crossplane v8 makes for a great high revving european growl, so maybe they could mix and match things for more diversity too.
While I think everyone can agree that Beam has plenty of I4 sounds (ITB buzz aside), I personally feel like this also extends to the game's crossplane V8 sound library. The reason for this is mainly down to the comparative lack of sounds for engines like a smoother-sounding modern V6, a proper flatplane V8 (the Bolide sound, while nice, doesn't quite work for something like a Cosworth DFV, and indeed its IRL Maserati counterpart is actually a crossplane), or any sort of V12. To sum it up, I'd much rather the devs address engine sounds for other configurations before returning to crossplane V8s or I4s.
I suggested a while ago a short wheelbase roadster in the vein of the Buick Reatta or Cadillac Allante.
