I guess it's very close indeed. I don't know if they will release today, since it's Friday, and it's good if they have a few days to correct reported bugs and stuff, but Monday or Tuesday is a good guess.
yea, they wouldnt release it on the same day as the creator program, its so they can make a video about it
Finally updated my summary post, inspired by the panic that the update will be out next week and I haven't touched this since June:
I wonder if Vulcan will leave its experimental status with the coming update, leading to the team focusing on new visual improvements in the following updates. It already seems to work pretty well in the current version
Yes, it's been confirmed that Vulkan will take over as the primary renderer in 0.33. I assume that DirectX will still be available for compatibility - most likely in the same way Vulkan is now. https://discord.com/channels/710082165253079061/718085411225993216/1268518420224409621
Its been proven right that time and time again, when the creator branch is updated, the update is not far behind. Get off your high horse.
Wasn't trying to be a jerk, sorry about that though, but there are times I've seen the dev branch get updates and the update didn't drop for months.
Ah i see that must be where my confusion comes from. didn't know that if a certain one got updated it was more likely than the other that an update was coming soon.
The creator program is an early version of the game that content creators use to film content for their videos that release the same day as the update. When it's updated, the actual update is basically never much more than 2 weeks behind it.
The way you commented sounded snarky to me, but I understand if that's not how you meant for it to come off. No problem and sorry for snapping back. --- Post updated --- Nope just latest, stable is 24 days ago
This is huge and honestly this change alone would be enough for me, since this probably means they've managed VRAM handling
